  • Browns' Sal Cannella: Earns opportunity with Browns

Cleveland agreed to terms Thursday on a contract with Cannella, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Cannella led all UFL tight ends with 470 receiving yards last season, and he now gets another chance to develop with an NFL club. He spent training camp in 2024 with the Buccaneers but didn't make the team's 53-man roster.

  • Sal Cannella: Cut by Bucs

The Buccaneers waived Cannella on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Cannella signed with the Bucs at the beginning of training camp. He registered two catches for 16 yards against the Jaguars on Aug. 17, but he did not record a catch in his other two preseason outings. Cannella will explore his next options should he go unclaimed off waivers.

  • Buccaneers' Sal Cannella: Slated to sign with Bucs

Cannella will be signing with Tampa Bay, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Cannella has yet to play an NFL snap since ending his college career in 2019, but he's had some success in the XFL/UFL, most notably leading the UFL with six receiving touchdowns while racking up 496 receiving yards (fifth-most in the league) on 53 receptions (third-most) with Arlington this spring. Cannella will look to earn a roster spot among a Tampa Bay TE corps that is headed by Cade Otton, who played over 90 percent of the team's offensive snaps last season.

  • Sal Cannella: Let go by Seattle

Cannella was waived by the Seahawks on Sunday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Cannella had success in the XFL with the Arlington Renegades this summer but was unable to land a spot on the Seahawks' 53-man roster. It's unclear whether he'll be able to find a spot with an NFL organization during the 2023 campaign.

  • Seahawks' Sal Cannella: Signs with Seattle

The Seahawks signed Cannella on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Cannella led the XFL's Arlington Renegades with 42 catches, turning them into 415 scoreless yards earlier this year. A catch-first tight end, Cannella has yet to appear in an NFL game and faces an uphill battle to land a roster spot with the Seahawks.

  • Sal Cannella: Let go by Green Bay

The Packers waived Cannella on Tuesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Cannella signed with the Packers in July after being named to the All-USFL team during his stint with the New Orleans Breakers earlier this year. The tight end caught all three of his targets for 31 yards across the final two preseason games, but he finds himself among a wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline.
