Panthers' DeShawn Williams: Following Evero to Carolina
Williams (knee) agreed to a contract with the Panthers on Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Williams is set to rejoin new Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who held the same role with the Broncos last season. Over 17 regular-season games with Denver in 2022, the 30-year-old defensive tackle logged career highs in sacks (4.5) and defensive snaps (565) to go along with 37 tackles. Williams is expected to provide valuable depth alongside younger defensive tackles Derrick Brown and Shy Tuttle in Carolina.

Williams recorded 2.5 sacks among five total tackles in Sunday's Week 15 win over Arizona.
Williams logged 40 snaps in the contest and recorded a season-high five stops. He entered Week 12 without a sack but collected two in Week 13 and 2.5 in Week 15. Denver will continue to look to Williams to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks with Dre'Mont Jones (hip) out for the season.

Williams recorded four tackles (two solo) and two sacks in Sunday's 10-9 loss to Baltimore.
The two sacks were Williams' first two of the season. Although he is listed as D.J. Jones' backup at nose tackle, he ended up seeing one more defensive snap (41). The 29-year-old also saw the field for two special-teams plays. He will look to carry that momentum into the team's Week 14 clash with the Chiefs.
