  • Jets' Josh Reynolds: Early lead for No. 2 role

Reynolds showcased impressive chemistry with quarterback Justin Fields at mandatory minicamp and is the early favorite to secure the No. 2 receiver role behind Garrett Wilson, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Reynolds' early rapport with Fields and willingness to contribute as a blocker in the run game have made a good impression on head coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, currently giving him an advantage over Allen Lazard for the top receiver gig behind Wilson. Of course, Glenn and Engstrand seem likely to import something similar to the run-heavy approach deployed during their time together in Detroit, which would be suited to Fields' skill set. That may leave few targets left up for grabs for wideouts other than Wilson, especially with Breece Hall's presence as a capable pass catcher out of the backfield and the addition of rookie second-round TE Mason Taylor. In deeper fantasy formats, locking up the No. 2 role will at least give Reynolds a realistic path to having spike weeks in 2025.

  • Jets' Josh Reynolds: Headed to New York

The Jets signed Reynolds on Thursday.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Reynolds' agreement with the Jets is a one-year deal worth up to $5 million. The 30-year-old is coming off a 2024 regular season in which he combined for 13 catches for 194 yards and a TD over the course of nine games (five with Denver and four with Jacksonville). With New York, Reynolds will have an opportunity to compete for targets behind top option Garrett Wilson in a wideout corps that also includes Allen Lazard, Xavier Gipson, Malachi Corley and Tyler Johnson. A fantasy bounce-back could be in store for Reynolds this coming season should he secure steady snaps, which for now -- based on his new team's current roster -- is a plausible outcome.

  • Josh Reynolds: Officially released by Jacksonville

The Jaguars officially released Reynolds on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Jacksonville officially cut both Reynolds and tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) on Friday, clearing additional cap space before the start of free agency and the legal tampering period next week. Reynolds' release will free up roughly $4.26 million in cap space. The veteran wideout joined the Jaguars as a waiver claim last December, ultimately securing one of five targets for 11 yards across four regular-season appearances with the team.

  • Josh Reynolds: To be let go by Jacksonville

Reynolds is in line to be released by the Jaguars, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.

The wide receiver was claimed by the Jags in December after being waived by Denver, per Tomasson. Reynolds only caught one pass for 11 yards in four games with Jacksonville after grabbing 12 for 183 and a score in five contests with the Broncos. The 2017 fourth-round pick of the Rams initially signed a two-year deal with Denver last offseason after playing out a two-year contract with Detroit.

  • Jaguars' Josh Reynolds: Three targets Week 18

Reynolds secured one of three targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Colts.

The 29-year-old operated as Jacksonville's No. 3 wide receiver and caught his first pass since being claimed off waivers from the Broncos in early December, but he had a minor role in the passing game. Reynolds totaled 13 receptions for 194 yards and one touchdown in nine games between Denver and Jacksonville this season. He's under contract for $3.99 million for next season but may not be retained by the Jaguars since that money isn't guaranteed.

  • Jaguars' Josh Reynolds: Minor role in Jacksonville debut

Reynolds failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's loss to the Jets.

The 29-year-old made his debut for the Jaguars after being claimed off waivers Dec. 4, but he didn't see much action in the passing game while working as the No. 4 wideout. Reynolds' role isn't likely to change much down the stretch if Brian Thomas, Parker Washington and Devin Duvernay remain healthy.
