Broncos' Samaje Perine: Questionable after missed practice
Perine is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers with a knee injury.
Perine was listed as a full participant in practices Wednesday and Thursday, but he might have suffered a setback at some point along the way after downgrading to no activity Friday. Given the way he ended the week of practice, Perine may not be ready to play Sunday, though official word on his status should come when Denver releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. If Perine is out this weekend, rookie Jaleel McLaughlin could be in line for additional snaps behind Javonte Williams, particularly on passing downs.

Broncos' Samaje Perine: Minimal involvement in Week 13
Perine rushed once for one yard and caught both of his targets for five yards in Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Texans.
Perine's quiet performance Sunday came on day when the Broncos offense took a step back from their recent stretch of success. Perine played just 12 of Denver's 60 offensive snaps, behind Javonte Williams (39) and ahead of Jaleel McLaughlin (9). The veteran recorded season lows in receiving yards and rushing yards in games with at least one carry. Based on Perine's inconsistent usage behind Williams, he remains an untrustworthy option for fantasy purposes. The 28-year-old should continue to have an uphill battle for valuable touches when the Broncos visit the Chargers in Week 14.

Broncos' Samaje Perine: Scores first TD in 2023
Perine carried the ball seven times for 55 yards and a touchdown and caught his only target for 11 yards in Sunday's 29-12 win over the Browns.
Javonte Williams left the game briefly on the Broncos' opening drive to be checked out for a neck injury, and Perine took advantage by scoring his first TD of the season on a three-yard plunge. Williams was back in on the next possession, but Perine continued to make an impact when he had the ball in his hands, with three of his subsequent touches going for more than 10 yards. It's been a disappointing first season in Denver for the 28-year-old back, who got into the end zone six times with the Bengals in 2022, but he's topped 60 scrimmage yards in back-to-back contests and has reclaimed the No. 2 RB role from rookie Jaleel McLaughlin.
