  • Redskins OLB Ryan Kerrigan set for surgery Monday

Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan (hand) will undergo surgery to repair a broken bone suffered Sunday against the Buccaneers, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The surgery at least coincides with the Week 8 bye. As a result, he'll have a built-in week to recover, and since his injury can be guarded with a club, Kerrigan actually might not miss any game action. With that in mind, his status should be monitored more closely once the Redskins reconvene next week ahead of their Week 9 contest against the Patriots.
