Player Outlook
Robinson was traded from the Rams to the Steelers in the offseason and it's very difficult to see how that is going to stop the steep downward curve of Robinson's production. Before the 2021 season, Robinson had never delivered less than 1.33 yards per route run. In 2021 with Chicago, that number fell to 1.14 before cratering to 0.93 last year. Robinson has missed 12 games over the past two seasons and has been one of the least efficient wide receivers in the NFL when he was active. We understand if you want to take one more chance on Robinson regaining form, but we wouldn't do it before Round 15 in any format.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Tallies 21 yards in loss

Robinson secured one of three targets for 21 yards during the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday. Robinson was targeted twice earlier in Thursday's matchup, but his lone reception came on the final play of the game when the Steelers tried to pull off a miracle with a long field and no timeouts. He's now tallied double-digit receiving yards in four consecutive games, securing eight of 11 targets for 71 yards during that time. However, the 30-year-old's results haven't been enough to make him a fantasy-relevant option.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Hauls in three passes

Robinson caught all three of his targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Cardinals. The veteran wideout caught three or more passes for just the fifth time this year, bringing his total up to 26 receptions through 12 games. All of Robinson's targets came after Kenny Pickett (ankle) left Sunday's game, and with Pickett set to miss some time, Mitch Trubisky is in line to assume the starting duties. Trubisky and Robinson spent three years together in Chicago, so the two could have built a rapport during that time. Even with Trubisky starting, Robinson will likely remain a non-viable option for most fantasy managers, as he ranks fifth on the Steelers with 204 receiving yards on the season.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Held to one catch Sunday

Robinson secured his lone target for 11 yards during the Steelers' 16-10 win over the Bengals on Sunday. Although the Steelers looked much better offensively Week 12 following the recent firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada, Robinson remained limited during the victory. While he topped 20 receiving yards in three of his first five appearances with the Steelers, he's secured just six of nine targets for 48 yards over the past six weeks and is unlikely to have much fantasy upside as long as the team's other pass catchers are healthy.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Logs three receptions Sunday

Robinson secured three of four targets for 20 yards during the Steelers' 13-10 loss to Cleveland on Sunday. Robinson had totaled just two receptions for 17 yards during the first four games after the Steelers' Week 6 bye. While he was slightly more productive Sunday, he had limited fantasy production and is unlikely to have much upside unless the Steelers' offense drastically improves to close out the regular season.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Tallies 10 yards Thursday

Robinson secured one of two targets for 10 yards during the Steelers' 20-16 win over Tennessee on Thursday. Robinson had some relatively encouraging performances before the Steelers' Week 6 bye while Diontae Johnson was unavailable, but the 30-year-old has been held in check over the last three games now that Johnson is back in action. Across the last three matchups, Robinson has secured two of four targets for 17 yards. He hasn't yet found the end zone in 2023 and doesn't have much upside while the rest of Pittsburgh's receivers are healthy.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Minimal workload in Week 7

Robinson secured his lone target for seven yards during the Steelers' 24-17 win over the Rams on Sunday. The 30-year-old put together some relatively encouraging performances over the past few weeks while Diontae Johnson was sidelined, but Robinson's role within the Steelers' offense decreased once Johnson was back in action. Robinson hasn't topped 30 receiving yards in any of the last five games and is unlikely to be a reliable fantasy option now that the team's receiver room is back to full strength.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Five catches in victory

Robinson secured five of nine targets for 29 yards during the Steelers' 17-10 win over the Ravens on Sunday. Robinson finished second on the team in targets in Week 5 with Diontae Johnson (hamstring) still on injured reserve. However, Robinson averaged just 5.8 yards per reception as the team's offense struggled with its efficiency once again. The 30-year-old's target share has been inconsistent in recent weeks, as he had totaled nine targets over the prior three games before logging Sunday's season-best mark in the category. The Steelers have a bye before facing the Rams in Week 7.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Held in check Sunday

Robinson secured one of two targets for eight yards during the Steelers' 30-6 loss to the Texans on Sunday. Although Diontae Johnson (hamstring) remained sidelined Sunday, Robinson had season-low marks in targets and receptions during the blowout loss as the Steelers offense once again sputtered. The 30-year-old's snap count has remained consistent over the first four weeks of the season, but he hasn't had enough targets to carve out a fantasy-relevant role early in 2023.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Good to go for Week 4

Robinson (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Houston. Robinson made steady progress throughout the week, as he got a limited practice in Thursday after sitting out Wednesday, then upgraded to full participation Friday to avoid an injury designation altogether. The veteran wide receiver has 11 catches for 100 yards on 15 targets through three games with Pittsburgh. Robinson and Calvin Austin should continue to see extra opportunities alongside George Pickens with Diontae Johnson (hamstring ) on injured reserve.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Back to limited practice Thursday

Robinson (ankle) was upgraded to a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Robinson was DNP Wednesday, so this puts him on track to play in Week 4 against the Texans. The Steelers' slot man, Robinson has turned 15 targets into a scoreless 11-100-0 receiving line after three games. He's not a high-percentage fantasy bet in a run-based offense.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Misses practice Wednesday

Robinson (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Head coach Mike Tomlin previously noted that Robinson might be limited during the early portions of the week, so the wideout's absence from practice Wednesday wasn't entirely surprising. Robinson now has two more chances to return to the practice field ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans. He'll presumably need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid heading into the weekend with an injury designation.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Tending to ankle issue

Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Robinson is dealing with an ankle injury that may limit him during the early part of Week 4 prep, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. The Steelers will take the field Wednesday for their first practice of the week, but it seems as if Robinson will have some sort of cap on his reps. As a result, his activity level will be something to watch as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's game at Houston. With Diontae Johnson (hamstring) on IR and Gunner Olszewski in the concussion protocol, George Pickens, Calvin Austin, Miles Boykin and Dez Fitzpatrick are the only healthy wide receivers on Pittsburgh's active roster.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Little production on four catches

Robinson caught all four of his targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 23-18 win over the Raiders. Robinson doubled his production from a week ago, but it still resulted in an unsavory fantasy line. The 30-year-old has struggled to fit in with a developing Pittsburgh offense, even with Diontae Johnson (hamstring) getting hurt in Week 1. Since Johnson landed on IR, Robinson has seen roughly equal snap counts to second-year wideout Calvin Austin, but the latter has been more productive and scored a 72-yard touchdown in Sunday's win. Robinson should be considered a low-end fantasy play against Houston in Week 4.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Quiet in elevated role

Robinson finished with two receptions (on three targets) for 12 yards in Monday's 26-22 win over the Browns. Robinson got the start alongside George Pickens (4-127-1) after Diontae Johnson (hamstring) was placed on IR this week. The veteran wideout wound up seeing his targets and production decrease compared to last week's five-catch, 64-yard performance as the No. 3 receiver. The Steelers' schedule softens up after facing two of the league's top pass defenses, so Robinson could experience more success against the Raiders on Sunday.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

The Steelers won't have Diontae Johnson (hamstring) for multiple weeks, according to ESPN, which means Robinson and Calvin Austin III are now being thrust into prominent roles for the Steelers. Robinson had five catches for 64 yards on eight targets against the 49ers in Week 1, and we'll see if he can turn back the clock now as a starter in Pittsburgh. I don't have much faith, but in deeper leagues you can add Robinson for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Leads team in receiving yards

Robinson secured five of eight targets for 64 yards during the Steelers' 30-7 loss to San Francisco on Sunday. Robinson was held in check during the preseason, but he impressed during his regular-season debut with the Steelers. He racked up 53 receiving yards in the fourth quarter after Diontae Johnson (hamstring) was ruled out for the remainder of the game, so Robinson's role in Week 2 will likely depend on Johnson's availability. However, it was an encouraging start to the season for the 30-year-old following back-to-back disappointing campaigns with the Bears and Rams.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Exclusively playing with starters

Robinson caught his lone target for a two-yard gain in Thursday's preseason game at Atlanta. Robinson exclusively worked with the first-team offense this preseason, accounting for three of 15 targets from QB Kenny Pickett and ultimately catching two for 12 yards. Pickett had more luck throwing to returning starters Diontae Johnson, George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth, which isn't exactly a surprise given the expectation of those three being the team's top pass catchers. Robinson will try to prove he has enough left in the tank to be a helpful complementary option, starting with a Week 1 home game against San Francisco.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: One catch against Buffalo

Robinson secured one of two targets for 10 yards during Saturday's 27-15 preseason win over the Bills. Robinson wasn't targeted during last weekend's preseason opener, but he saw more work Saturday despite playing just five snaps. He worked alongside the starters once again Saturday and seems like a solid option to serve as the team's starting slot receiver once the regular season gets underway.

  • Steelers' Allen Robinson: Not targeted in preseason opener

Robinson wasn't targeted during Friday's 27-17 preseason win over the Buccaneers. Robinson worked with the starters during Friday's matchup but wasn't targeted during his first game action with his new club. However, all three of Pittsburgh's top receivers played under 10 snaps, so there weren't many targets to go around early in the game. Robinson has been working from the slot during training camp, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him operate with the starting offense early in the regular season.
