Nwaba was under contract with the Pistons for less than 24 hours, as he was waived shortly after his signature, and this move means he'll likely spend the 2023-24 season playing for Detroit's G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. Nwaba is being waived to make room for Isaiah Joe on the Thunder's roster. The 29-year-old forward was traded to OKC from Houston in late September. Last season, the journeyman played 46 games for the Rockets and averaged 5.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.6 steals in 13.2 minutes. Nwaba -- along with Sterling Brown, Trey Burke and Marquese Chriss -- was traded from the Rockets to the Thunder on Thursday in exchange for Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome, Maurice Harkless, Theo Maledon and a 2025 second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
