Guhle sustained a head injury April 4 versus the Lightning that cost him the last seven games of the season, but he hasn't been ruled out from joining Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship in May, Arpon Basu of The Athletic reports. Guhle will conclude his second NHL season with 22 points, 95 shots on net, 116 hits, 178 blocked shots, 56 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 70 contests. He mainly played in a top-four role. Guhle's injury was not classified as a concussion, and it's possible he could get a little more playing time at Worlds before the offseason.... See More ... See Less

Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Out again Saturday
Guhle (upper body) won't play Saturday versus the Senators, Simon-Olivier Lorange of La Presse reports. Guhle is set to miss his fifth straight game. The Canadiens have just two contests left after this one, a home-and-home set Monday and Tuesday versus the Red Wings. The 22-year-old defenseman has 22 points, 116 hits and 178 blocked shots through 70 contests, and that may be where his production ends if he can't get cleared before the conclusion of the campaign.... Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Won't play against Isles
Guhle (upper body) will remain sidelined heading into Thursday's clash with the Islanders, Patrick Frioley of RDS reports. Guhle will be shelved for his fourth straight game due to his upper-body issue. The Edmonton native has managed just 22 points in 70 games this season, significantly behind his .41 point-per-game pace last year. Johnny Kovacevic could find himself among the healthy scratches once Guhle is given the green light to return.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Not ready to return Tuesday
Guhle (upper body) will not be an option to face the Flyers on Tuesday, Jean Francois Chaumont of NHL.com reports. Guhle was on the ice for Tuesday's game-day skate, so it appears he is trending in the right direction even if he won't be in action versus Philadelphia. The blueliner was rolling offensively prior to getting hurt with seven points in his last seven contests to go with 13 hits, 12 blocks and eight shots.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Out Sunday
Guhle (upper body) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Rangers, per the NHL's media site. Guhle was injured Thursday against the Lightning and has missed two contests since. His next chance to get in the lineup will be Tuesday against the Flyers. Guhle has six points over his last five appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Not playing Saturday
Guhle (upper body) won't be in the lineup Saturday versus Toronto. Guhle was injured in the first period Thursday against the Lightning and did not return. The defenseman has six goals, 22 points, 116 hits and 178 blocked shots in 70 appearances this season. Look for Johnny Kovacevic to replace him Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Won't finish contest
Guhle (upper body) won't finish Thursday's game versus the Lightning. Guhle took a hard hit into the boards in the first period, and it's enough to keep him out for the rest of the game. Depending on the severity of the injury, the Canadiens could opt to shut down the 22-year-old defenseman for the season. They next play Saturday versus the Maple Leafs, and if Guhle can't play, Johnny Kovacevic will likely get in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Finishes serving suspension
Guhle is eligible to return to the lineup Tuesday against Florida after serving his one-game suspension for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny on Thursday. Guhle has two goals and four assists over his past five outings. His return could bump Johnny Kovacevic to the press box as a healthy scratch in Tuesday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Slapped with one-game ban
Guhle has been suspended one game for slashing the Flyers' Travis Konecny. Guhle will miss Saturday's tilt against the Hurricanes and is eligible to return Tuesday against Florida. The 22-year-old blueliner has six goals and 21 points through 68 games this season, including six in his last five appearances. Johnny Kovacevic could take Guhle's spot in the lineup Saturday.... Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Facing potential suspension
Guhle will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Friday for slashing the Flyers' Travis Konecny during Thursday's 4-1 win over the Flyers. Through 68 games this season, the Guhle has set new personal bests in goals (six), assists (15) and shots (92) while also chipping in with 113 hits and 177 blocks. Johnny Kovacevic should come into the lineup if Guhle is in fact suspended.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Helps in win
Guhle had an assist, three blocked shots and two hits in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche. Guhle was part of the forechecking pressure administered by the Canadiens that led to Joel Armia's game-winning goal late in the first period. Not known much for his offense, the 22-year-old Guhle has five points over the last four contests and a career-high 20 for the season. He also leads Montreal in blocks (174) and is fourth on the team in hits (110).... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Halts goal drought
Guhle scored a goal on one shot, blocked four shots and doled out one hit in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Edmonton. Guhle streaked through the neutral zone down an open alley on the left side, accepted a feed from Jake Evans, and beat Calvin Pickard cleanly glove side to knot the game at 2-2 early in the third period. The tally, Guhle's career-high fifth, snapped an 18-game run without a goal for Guhle. The tally got him to an even plus-minus for the game and helped erase the image of Connor McDavid victimizing him in the first period for Edmonton's first goal, an opportunity created by a teammate's bad turnover in the Montreal zone. As a sign of the coaching staff's growing confidence in the 22-year-old, Guhle spent a team-high 12:28 on the ice with McDavid at five-on-five Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Logs assist in loss
Guhle had an assist, one shot on net and two hits over 20:09 of ice time in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers. Guhle recorded the secondary helper on Cole Caufield's second tally of the game late in the third period. It was the second consecutive game with a point for Guhle, who has 14 points through 50 games.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Good to go
Guhle (undisclosed) will play Tuesday against Anaheim. Guhle is expected to skate on the top pairing versus the Ducks. He's picked up 12 points through 48 games this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Scores first in loss
Guhle scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to Pittsburgh. He added two blocks, one hit and two PIM over 25:45 of ice time. Guhle snuck in toward the goal and finished off a feed from Mike Matheson to open the scoring late in the first period. The tally was Guhle's fourth of the season and first in 12 outings. He's up to 12 points through 45 games and leads the Habs with 129 blocks.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Helps in loss
Guhle recorded an assist, 10 blocked shots and one hit over 20:35 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Flyers. Guhle and partner Justin Barron played pass along the blue line before Sean Monahan tipped in Barron's shot to put the Canadiens up 1-0 early in the first period. The assist upped Guhle's point total to 11 through 36 games, but as evidenced by his production Wednesday, his fantasy value lays in the blocks category. He leads Montreal with 107 blocks.... Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Opens new year with goal
Guhle scored a goal on one shot and recorded five blocks over 19:17 of ice time in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Stars. Guhle started the new year with a bang by snapping a 17-game goal drought. He one-timed a big rebound off a Johnny Kovacevic shot past Scott Wedgewood for his first tally since Nov. 22. It was Guhle's third goal in 33 games, leaving him one shy of the career-high four he had in 44 games last season.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Snaps point drought
Guhle had an assist, two shots on net, two blocked shots and three hits over 19:51 of ice time in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Islanders. Guhle snapped a seven-game stretch without a point when he initiated a sequence that ended in Joel Armia's second-period tally, which opened the scoring. The defenseman has two goals, seven assists, 38 shots, 39 hits and 73 blocked shots with a plus-3 rating while averaging 21:14 TOI over 26 games.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Wins it in OT
Guhle scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Boston. He also had an assist, two shots on net, four blocked shots and one hit over 21:12 of ice time. Guhle took advantage of a couple fortunate bounces and beat Jeremy Swayman, who was prone on the ice. The defenseman had earlier picked up a primary assist when Brendan Gallagher deposited a rebound of his shot from the point. It was the second multi-point effort for Guhle, who has six points in 10 games. He's also contributed 12 hits, 31 blocked shots and 19 shots on net while averaging 19:56 TOI on the second pair.... See More ... See Less -
Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Two assists in return from injury
Guhle (upper body) had two assists in his return to action in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Jets. The timing of his return is critical with Mike Matheson (lower body) not returning to the ice after the second period Saturday. Guhle has the ability to deliver offense, and depending on the length of Matheson's absence, he could be the Habs' go-to for the power play. Guhle has just 48 NHL games under his belt, but he would be an intriguing fantasy option for the duration of Matheson's absence if Guhle moves up to Montreal's top unit with the extra man....
