  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Struggles against Oilers

Rantanen delivered an assist in a 6-3 Game 5 loss to Edmonton on Thursday. Rantanen was all but invisible against the Oilers. After putting up 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in 13 games in the first two rounds, Rantanen tallied just three assists, two of which were secondary, and 11 shots in five contests in the Western Conference Finals. In fact, 17 of his 22 playoff points came in just five games. When he's hot, he's an inferno. However, the Stars needed more against the Oilers. Rantanen has plenty of time to show Dallas brass and fans that he can deliver excellence with consistency. He's inked to the end of the 2032-33 season on an eight-year, $96 million extension that kicks in this fall.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Offers assist in loss

Rantanen posted an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 3. Rantanen's goal drought reached six games after this loss, and he has just three assists with 13 shots on net in that span. The winger is up to 21 points (nine goals, 12 helpers) in 16 playoff contests, but he hasn't been able to keep pace in the postseason scoring race, as Connor McDavid (22 points) has passed Rantanen while Leon Draisaitl (21 points) is tied for second place. Rantanen has added 45 shots on net, 13 hits, 20 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Generates power-play helper

Rantanen notched a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Oilers in Game 1. Rantanen was held off the scoresheet in the last two games of the second round versus the Jets. He's had few quiet moments this postseason, playing a huge role with five multi-point efforts, including a pair of hat tricks. He's at 20 points (seven on the power play), 42 shots on net, 17 blocked shots, 11 hits and a plus-2 rating over 14 playoff contests. Rantanen continues to lead the postseason in points, one ahead of Edmonton's duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and it's a battle between those superstars that could define this series.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Supplies assist in win

Rantanen logged an assist and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Jets in Game 4. Given his recent success, a one-assist performance is a little quiet from Rantanen. Over the last seven games, he's logged at least three points on five separate occasions. The 28-year-old winger is up to nine goals, 10 assists, 32 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, 10 hits and a plus-3 rating across 11 playoff outings. Rantanen will look to add to his totals in Game 5 on Thursday as the Stars try to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Rantanen racked up a goal and two assists, including one on the power play, in Sunday's 5-2 win over Winnipeg in Game 3. Rantanen is on an absolute tear -- he has scored or assisted on 15 of the Stars' last 16 goals. The all-world winger was held off the scoresheet in a shutout loss in Game 2, but over the last six games, Rantanen has amassed nine goals and eight helpers. He had two primary assists before scoring himself to stretch Dallas' lead to 4-2 in the final frame Sunday. The 28-year-old leads the NHL in postseason scoring with nine goals and 18 points over 10 outings.

Rantanen scored three goals on five shots, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Jets in Game 1. Rantanen's natural hat trick came over a span of 7:55 in the second period. The third goal, a power-play tally at 16:38 of the frame, stood as the game-winner. This was Rantanen's second game in a row with a hat trick in one period. The 28-year-old winger has compiled 15 points over eight postseason outings, with all but one of those points coming in the last four contests. He's added 29 shots on net, 10 hits, 10 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Torments former team in Game 7

Rantanen had a hat trick and one assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 7. Over the final 12:11 of the contest, Rantanen pulled the Stars back from the brink, and he did so against his former team. Per Sportsnet, he is the first player in NHL playoff history with a third-period, Game 7 hat trick. This was also his second consecutive four-point performance, and the winger finished the round with five goals, seven assists, 24 shots on net, 10 hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over seven appearances. Now that his offense is looking lively, Rantanen is well-positioned to be a leader for the Stars in the second round.

Rantanen scored a goal on two shots, distributed three assists and added three hits in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Avalanche in Game 6. Rantanen has come alive with seven points over the last two games after beginning the series with just one assist in four contests. The 28-year-old winger was part of a big second period for the Stars, but the Avalanche responded in the third to take the win and force Game 7. Rantanen has added 20 shots on net, nine hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating across six playoff outings.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Pots winner in revenge game

Rantanen score the game-winning goal Monday and added two assists, one on the power play, in the Stars' 6-2 win over the Avalanche in Game 5 of their first-round series. The 28-year-old winger began the campaign with Colorado, and he may have helped end the Avs' season with his huge performance Monday. Rantanen had produced just one assist through the first four games of the series, but after springing to life Monday, he'll take plenty of momentum into Game 6 on Thursday as the Stars look to punch their tickets to the second round.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Helps out in overtime

Rantanen logged an assist, five shots on goal, three blocked shots and two PIM in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 3. Rantanen snapped a three-game dry spell with the helper, but he's still gone seven contests without a goal. The winger was back in a top-line role Wednesday after failing to make much of an impact alongside Wyatt Johnston and Jamie Benn back on home ice in the first two playoff games. Rantanen has 11 shots on net, five hits, six blocked shots and a minus-3 rating across three playoff outings. He's getting his chances, so his luck should turn around eventually.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Dishes two assists Saturday

Rantanen logged two assists, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-3 loss to Utah. Rantanen has picked up a goal and five assists over six outings in April. The star winger is up to 32 goals, 55 assists, 207 shots on net, 47 hits, 43 blocked shots, 60 PIM and a plus-14 rating across 80 appearances between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche this season. Rantanen continues to play a big role for the Stars and should be a steady source of offense for fantasy managers in playoff pools.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Adds helper Sunday

Rantanen notched an assist and fired four shots on goal in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild. Rantanen tallied the primary helper on linemate Jason Robertson's opening goal in the first period. Overall, the 28-year-old Rantanen is up to 53 assists, 84 points and 205 shots on goal across 77 appearances this season. The superstar is currently tied for 12th in points across the league with Montreal's Nick Suzuki. Rantanen has 10 points in his last eight games and should remain a high-level option in fantasy for the rest of the season. Dallas has five games left in the regular season, giving Rantanen a window to reach the 90-point mark for the fourth consecutive year if he can tally six more points.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Two-point effort in win

Rantanen notched two assists in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Predators. Both points came in the third period as the Stars put the game away. • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Racks up three points in win

Rantanen scored an empty-net goal on four shots, dished two assists and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Kraken. One of Rantanen's helpers was on a Roope Hintz power-play goal late in the first period, which was the game-winner. The 28-year-old Rantanen has produced two goals and five assists during his four-game point streak, a span in which he's also gone plus-6. The top-line winger is at 31 goals, 50 helpers, 199 shots on net, 43 hits, 41 blocked shots, 56 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 73 contests between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche in 2024-25.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Heating up

Rantanen recorded a goal, an assist, a plus-2 rating and 12 PIM in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Flames. Rantanen extended his point streak to three games, but perhaps more importantly, he scored a goal for the first time since March 9. As a marquee acquisition before the trade deadline, the Stars need Rantanen to be at his best, and his current point streak, albeit short, might be a sign of things to come for the star winger. Rantanen has posted nine points (three goals, six assists) across 14 games in March.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Sends assist Wednesday

Rantanen logged an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers. Rantanen hasn't gotten in on the fun as much as linemates Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz lately. Over the last seven contests, Rantanen has been limited to three assists, though he's likely still in his adjustment phase with his third team of the season. The star winger is at 76 points, 194 shots on net, 42 hits, 41 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 71 appearances between the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche this season.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Tallies assist in return to Denver

Rantanen registered an assist and added two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Colorado. Rantanen's return to Denver might not have resulted in a win, but he played strong offensively with an assist on linemate Jason Robertson's goal to open the scoring Sunday. The 28-year-old Rantanen now has 45 assists, 74 points and 185 shots on net in 66 games this season. He has four points in his four games with the Stars and has slotted in nicely alongside Robertson and Roope Hintz on the top line for Dallas. Rantanen ranks 13th in the league in points and should provide top-tier value in fantasy for the rest of the season. He might not be on pace for another 100-point campaign, but Rantanen is certainly within reach to cash in another 85-to-90-point season.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Deposits empty-netter

Rantanen scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Canucks. Rantanen is up to three points over two games with the Stars after providing the finishing touch for this win. The 28-year-old saw 19:04 of ice time Sunday, down from 21:56 in his Dallas debut versus the Oilers on Saturday, which was likely a product of head coach Pete DeBoer spreading the minutes around with the lead in the second leg of a back-to-back. Rantanen is now at 29 tallies, 73 points, 181 shots on net, 40 PIM and a plus-9 rating across 64 appearances between three teams this season. His time with the Stars is off to a smooth start, and fantasy managers should have no trouble keeping him in their lineups.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Two power-play points in team debut

Rantanen scored a goal on five shots and added an assist in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Oilers. Both of Rantanen's points came on the power play, and he logged 21:56 of ice time. The Stars have typically leaned on their balance as an offense, but with Rantanen in the fold, a move to a top-heavy approach with the top line may be in order, though he also had to pick up ice time after Roope Hintz (upper body) exited the game. Rantanen has earned 28 goals, 72 points (23 on the power play), 180 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 63 appearances with the Stars, Hurricanes and Avalanche this season. The $96 million man is committed to Dallas long term, so Stars fans and fantasy managers alike will hope he's able to get back on track after a rough month-plus with the Hurricanes took some of the shine off of his impressive season.
