  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Another win

Nedeljkovic made 17 saves in a 3-2 win over Columbus on Thursday.

Mathieu Oliver beat Nedeljkovic early in the second when he batted in a rebound out of midair. Cole Silinger finished a 3-on-1 rush at 13:11 of the same frame when he dropped to a knee for a one-timer. Nedeljkovic played a solid game and made things look easy most of the game. The Pens ride the hot hand in net, and Ned may be the guy in Columbus on Saturday given his performances in three consecutive starts and two wins in a row.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: First goalie off Thursday

Nedeljkovic was the first goalie to leave the ice Thursday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home versus Columbus.

Nedeljkovic will be making his third straight start -- he's coming off a 38-save victory over the Hurricanes on Tuesday. For the year, the 28-year-old Ohio native is sporting an 11-6-5 record to go with a 2.91 GAA and .906 save percentage. A strong finish to the season should help Nedeljkovic's chances of securing a longer-term contract this offseason after playing this season on a one-year deal.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Sharp in Tuesday's win

Nedeljkovic turned aside 38 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Hurricanes.

He had little chance on the one puck that beat him in the second period, as Dmitry Orlov's shot from just above the faceoff circle deflected off a Pittsburgh defender before sneaking past the screened goalie. Nedeljkovic is 2-0-1 over his last three starts and has a 2.45 GAA and .919 save percentage over his last five outings, including two relief appearances. With the Penguins fighting to stay alive in the playoff race, that might be enough to push the 28-year-old ahead of the struggling Tristan Jarry on the Pens' depth chart.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Slated to start

Nedeljkovic was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff, putting him on track to protect the home goal against the Hurricanes on Tuesday.

Nedeljkovic struggled in his last start Sunday against the Avalanche, surrendering four goals on just 25 shots before being replaced by Tristan Jarry midway through the third period of the eventual 5-4 overtime loss. Nedeljkovic will try to get back in the win column in a tough home matchup with a hot Carolina team that's won six of its last seven contests.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Pulled against Avs

Nedeljkovic was given the hook after conceding four goals on 25 shots in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to Colorado.

It's been an underwhelming March for Nedlejkovic, as he is 1-2-1 with a 4.18 GAA and an .843 save percentage over seven appearances. If the 28-year-old netminder could put together a winning streak, he would stand a decent chance of earning more starts down the stretch. At this point, however, Nedeljkovic may only play in back-to-backs given his recent outings.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Starting in Colorado

Nedeljkovic will defend the road net Sunday versus the Avalanche, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.

Nedeljkovic made 25 saves in a 6-3 win over Detroit on March 17 during his last start. In 25 appearances this season, he has supplied a 10-6-4 record with a 2.92 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Colorado ranks first in the league this campaign with 3.74 goals per contest.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Needed in relief Friday

Nedeljkovic stopped all three shots he faced after replacing Tristan Jarry early in the third period of Friday's 4-2 loss to the Stars.

It's the third time in March that Nedeljkovic has been needed in relief, as Jarry is mired in perhaps the worst stretch of his career at the worst possible time for the Penguins' playoff chances. Unfortunately, Nedeljkovic hasn't played well enough to make a real push to take over the starting role, posting a 4.07 GAA and .843 save percentage over his past six outings.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Picks up win Sunday

Nedeljkovic stopped 25 of 28 shots in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

Nedeljkovic allowed a goal on only the second shot of the game, but he was solid for the remainder of the outing. The Penguins provided offensive support and kept the high-danger shots against to a minimum. This was Nedeljkovic's first win since Feb. 15, as his playing time is limited due to Tristan Jarry being the clear No. 1 netminder. Pittsburgh will face the Devils on the road Tuesday, and Jarry will likely be back between the pipes.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Starting against Detroit

Nedeljkovic will protect the home net Sunday versus the Red Wings, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.

Nedeljkovic has gone 1-3-2 over his past nine outings, which includes two relief appearances. He has allowed 27 goals on 202 shots for an .866 save percentage during that span. In 23 contests this campaign, Nedeljkovic has a 9-6-4 record with a 2.95 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Detroit ranks seventh in the league this season with 3.39 goals per game.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Needed in relief Saturday

Nedeljkovic stopped all four shots he faced after replacing Tristan Jarry early in the third period of Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers.

The game had already slipped away from Pittsburgh when Nedeljkovic came in, but he at least didn't let things get any worse. The 28-year-old netminder has only gotten two starts in nine March games, but he's entered two contests in relief. His .817 save percentage in those outings doesn't make a strong case for a bigger role, but with Jarry also struggling and the Penguins' playoff hopes fading, Nedeljkovic might see an uptick in his workload.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Floodgates open in loss

Nedeljkovic made 18 saves in a 5-1 loss to Boston on Saturday.

The Penguins mismanaged the game, leaving Nedeljkovic vulnerable to the strong Bruins squad. He hasn't won since Feb. 15, going 0-2-1 in his past four appearances and allowing 18 goals in that span. Fantasy managers may need to keep him on the bench until he gets things right. Outings like this can sink an entire week.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Guarding crease Saturday

Nedeljkovic will guard the road goal Saturday versus Boston.

Nedeljkovic will get the first half of Pittsburgh's back-to-back, which could put Tristan Jarry in goal for Sunday's home matchup versus Edmonton. The 28-year-old Nedeljkovic has a 9-5-4 record this season with a 2.87 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 21 games played. Boston is tied for 10th in the league this campaign with 3.29 goals per contest.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Appears in relief

Nedeljkovic allowed two goals on seven shots in Thursday's 6-0 loss to the Capitals.

Nedeljkovic wasn't at his best in Thursday's relief appearance, though Tristan Jarry was ultimately saddled with a loss in the shutout defeat. It was just the second appearance for Nedeljkovic in Pittsburgh's last seven games -- he has just one win in seven outings since Jan. 11. The 28-year-old netminder is 9-5-4 with a .908 save percentage and 2.87 GAA while backing up Jarry this season. Nedeljkovic should get another opportunity to play later this week with the Penguins playing back-to-back games against Boston and Edmonton on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Draws start Sunday

Nedeljkovic will patrol the blue paint in Edmonton on Sunday.

Nedeljkovic will make his first start since Feb. 20, when he coughed up five goals on 33 shots in a loss to the Islanders. The 28-year-old backup is 9-4-4 with a 2.67 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 19 appearances this season. He's gone 1-1-2 over his last four starts despite posting a solid .910 save percentage during that stretch.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Little help in loss

Nedeljkovic stopped 31 of 37 shots in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Oilers.

Nedeljkovic had an unenviable position Sunday, starting behind a team that had lost in heartbreaking fashion in Calgary less than 24 hours earlier. The Penguins put together a punchless effort, and Nedeljkovic couldn't bail them out. He's lost four of his last five outings and is now at 9-5-4 with a 2.85 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 20 appearances. The Penguins return home for their next game Tuesday versus the Blue Jackets.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Falls to Isles in OT

Nedeljkovic turned aside 28 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Islanders.

The Isles seemed to have a book on Nedeljkovic, beating him consistently on longer-range shots to the blocker side, including on the OT winner by Adam Pelech for the defenseman's first goal of the season. Nedeljkovic has only one win in his last four starts, going 1-1-2 while stopping 11 of 122 shots (.910 save percentage), but with Tristan Jarry also scuffling a bit and having lost three straight, the duo may work in a timeshare in the short term.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Gets starting nod

Nedeljkovic will defend the blue paint versus the Islanders at home Tuesday, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Nedeljkovic was excellent in his last appearance Thursday against the Blackhawks, turning aside 27 of 28 shots en route to a 4-1 victory. He'll try to earn his 10th win of the season in a home matchup with a slumping Isles squad that's lost three straight games.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Cruises to win

Nedeljkovic stopped 28 of 29 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Nedeljkovic picked up his first win in four outings. The lone blemish on his stat line was a Philipp Kurashev tally in the second period. Nedeljkovic has allowed exactly one goal in five of his last 10 outings. He's now at 9-4-3 with a 2.54 GAA and a .919 save percentage over 18 appearances. Tristan Jarry will likely be back between the pipes for Sunday's game versus the Kings.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Starting in Chicago

Nedeljkovic will guard the road goal versus the Blackhawks on Thursday.

Nedeljkovic will handle the second half of a back-to-back after the Penguins lost 5-2 with Tristan Jarry in goal versus the Panthers on Wednesday. Since the start of January, Nedeljkovic has gone 2-2-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .901 save percentage over six games. He'll get a very favorable matchup, though with Connor Bedard back from a jaw injury, Nedeljkovic could face a bit more of a challenge Thursday.

  • Penguins' Alex Nedeljkovic: Downed by Minnesota

Nedeljkovic made 27 saves in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Wild.

The Penguins never led in the game, but Nedeljkovic kept things from getting out of hand and arguably should have been rewarded with a better result. Kirill Kaprizov's game-winner in the third period came right after the puck seemed to hit the netting above the glass in the corner, but play continued and replay was inconclusive. Nedeljkovic hasn't won a game in over a month, mostly due to a lack of work. In six outings since the beginning of January, he's 2-2-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .901 save percentage.
