  • Oilers' Evander Kane: Not expected to play Wednesday

Kane (personal) is not expected to be in the lineup Wednesday against Columbus, Jason Gregor of OilersNation.com reports.

  • Oilers' Evander Kane: No points but strong play Tuesday

Kane recorded a team-high seven shots and five hits in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Kraken.

Kane was expected to miss upwards of three months after a gruesome wrist injury sustained Nov. 8. He got back in the lineup much faster than that, and he was up to his usual type of performance -- sans points -- in his return. The 31-year-old should be a big boost for the Oilers going forward. He's at five goals, eight assists, 57 shots on net, 56 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 15 contests this season.

  • Oilers' Evander Kane: Activated from LTIR

Kane (wrist) was activated from long-term injured reserve Tuesday.

Kane, who has been out since Nov. 8, will return to the lineup Tuesday against Seattle. In corresponding moves, the Oilers placed both Kailer Yamamoto (undisclosed) and Ryan Murray (back) on LTIR. Kane has generated five goals and 13 points in 14 games this season. It probably won't be long before he is back in the top-six forward group, but he skated alongside Ryan McLeod and Warren Foegele during Monday's practice.

  • Oilers' Evander Kane: Game-time call

Kane (wrist) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with Seattle, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.

The Oilers have already placed Kailer Yamamoto (undisclosed) on long-term injured reserve to open up enough cap space for Kane to be activated prior to puck drop versus the Kraken, but Kane's status against Seattle evidently won't be confirmed until Edmonton takes the ice for pregame warmups. The 31-year-old winger racked up five goals and 13 points through 14 games before missing over two months of action with a wrist injury.

Kane (wrist) will be evaluated Monday and might return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday's contest against Seattle, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic.

Even if Kane, who hasn't played since Nov. 8, doesn't return Tuesday, it's believed that he'll be back in the lineup in the near future. He has five goals and 13 points in 14 contests this season. When he is ready to play, Kane is expected to resume serving in a top-six role.

  • Oilers' Evander Kane: Resumes skating

Kane (wrist) skated on his own Saturday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Kane was stickhandling with only one hand as he underwent surgery three weeks ago when he was cut across his wrist by the skate of Philippe Myers. Kane is still expected to be out of action for another 2-3 months, but this is a good first step for the talented winger, who has five goals, 13 points and 50 shots on goal in 14 games this campaign.

  • Oilers' Evander Kane: Cut on wrist Tuesday

Kane sustained a cut to his wrist in the second period of Tuesday's game versus the Lightning, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports.

Kane was knocked over by Philippe Myers before Patrick Maroon inadvertently stepped on the Oilers winger's wrist. Kane immediately left the ice bleeding, and it's safe to assume he won't be back in the contest after suffering such a potentially serious injury. If he is forced to miss any additional games, the Oilers will have to either put someone on long-term injured reserve or ride with seven defensemen and 11 forwards while Kane heals.
