  • Packers' Malik Heath: Moves up pecking order

Heath was targeted three times and had two receptions for 14 yards in Sunday's 24-19 victory over the Rams.

The Packers were down a pair of wideouts in Week 5 and the biggest beneficiary was Heath, who got the start and played just as many snaps as Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks. Heath will be behind both players, as well as Christian Watson (ankle) and Romeo Doubs (suspension), when the position group is at full strength, but he -- and not Bo Melton -- is the No. 5 option at wide receiver for the Packers.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Hauls in two passes

Heath caught both his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Vikings.

He stepped in after Christian Watson (ankle) left Sunday's contest, and Heath picked up his first two catches of the season. Watson seems likely to miss time with his injury, and if he does Heath and Bo Melton will both be candidates to play an expanded role behind the trio of Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Won't suit up in season opener

Heath (coach's decision) is inactive for Friday's Week 1 game in Brazil against the Eagles, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Heath had a nice preseason that helped him make Green Bay's 53-man roster, but he won't play in the team's first game of the regular season. That leaves the Packers with five active receivers for the contest -- Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton. Heath may need an injury to a wideout (or two) ahead of him in the pecking order to see regular offensive snaps during the campaign.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Leading receiver in preseason win

Heath caught four of five targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason finale versus the Ravens.

Heath was one of several young wideouts to get promoted to the starting lineup in place of resting starters in Saturday's conclusion to exhibition play. The 24-year-old put a bow on a solid preseason as the team's leading receiver, giving him a legitimate shot to make Green Bay's roster or practice squad ahead of the regular season kicking off.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Makes two receptions

Heath was targeted four times and caught two passes for 22 yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns.

Heath did not draw a target until the second quarter of Saturday's contest, but he wound up playing 38 snaps -- the second most among Packers wideouts. Heath entered training camp as Green Bay's presumptive sixth option at the wide receiver spot, but he is being pushed for the spot by fellow sophomore Grant DuBose, who led the team in receiving Saturday.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Makes 13 appearances as rookie

Heath was targeted 24 times and had 15 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown over 13 regular-season games in 2023.

The undrafted rookie earned himself a roster spot and hung onto it all season, and although he did not do a lot on the stat sheet he did have a few moments. He could have been more involved if Green Bay did not have a glut of productive receivers, but alas he finished his first season sixth on the depth chart at his position. All five wideouts ahead of him are set to return in 2024, but he figures to remain a part of the mix.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Tacks on three receptions

Heath was targeted four times and caught three passes for nine yards in Sunday's 17-9 victory over the Bears.

Heath opened Sunday's contest as the fifth option at the wideout spot, and he finished it fourth with fellow wideout Romeo Doubs (chest) exiting early. Heath caught at least one pass in the final eight games of the regular season, but he will remain primarily a depth piece when the playoffs get underway.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Held to one reception

Heath was targeted twice and caught one pass for 13 yards in Sunday's 33-10 victory over the Vikings.

Heath was pretty busy Sunday, finishing third among Packers wideouts with 46 of a possible 74 snaps, but he made only a minor mark in the box score. Three of the receivers ahead of him on the depth chart are banged up, so he could see more opportunities in Week 18. However, given how Bo Melton played the last two weeks, Heath would likely be no higher than the third option at his position in any scenario.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Tacks on three receptions

Heath was targeted three times and caught three passes for 29 yards in Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Buccaneers.

Heath saw a few extra snaps with fellow wideout Christian Watson (hamstring) sidelined again, and he recorded at least one reception for the fifth time in as many weeks. Although Heath is contributing at least somewhat consistently these days, it will be tough for him to make much of an impact unless two players ahead of him on the depth chart are unavailable, and even in that scenario he would still be Green Bay's third option at the wide receiver spot.

  • Packers' Malik Heath: Hauls in first touchdown pass

Heath was targeted twice and caught one pass for six yards and a touchdown in Monday's 24-22 loss to the Giants.

Heath nearly notched his first touchdown on the penultimate play the Packers ran in Monday's contest, and he wound up reaching the end zone for the first time as a professional just one play later. Heath did not do a lot Monday, but he did play his most snaps in a game since Week 1. He could play an expanded role again in Week 15 with Christian Watson (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) injured.
