Player Outlook
Hill remained a highly-effective option in the red zone for the Saints in 2022 en route to finishing as the fifth-best tight end in Fantasy (half-point PPR). The issue is that you couldn't count on Hill on a weekly basis. One week, he'd blow up for 100-plus yards and multiple touchdowns, and the next week he'd put up a goose egg. Hill makes for a better Best Ball format pick. If you start him in 2023, it seems more likely that it will come after adding him at some point via the waiver wire.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Finds end zone in loss

Hill logged 13 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown and caught his only two targets for 15 yards during Sunday's 33-28 defeat to Detroit. He also went 0-for-2 passing. Hill fulfilled a central role in the Saints' depleted offense Week 13, as wideout Rashid Shaheed (thigh) was inactive while Michael Thomas (knee) remained out on IR. The versatile tight end/quarterback has been a regular presence in the team's rushing offense throughout the season, and he actually led the team in rushing yards ahead of Alvin Kamara (51) on Sunday. The latter still notched two rushing touchdowns within the two-yard line during the second half while Hill added a one-yard rushing touchdown of his own. Hill also tied with tight end Foster Moreau for the third-most receptions on the Saints behind Kamara (six) and wideout Chris Olave (five). Hill's ability to factor in as a rusher, passer and receiver provides a solid fantasy floor as well as unique upside. His role in the offense could be even more significant if quarterback Derek Carr is forced to miss time after he was carted off the field due to a potential concussion in the fourth quarter.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Sleeper TEs

Hill and Juwan Johnson are both worth starting as No. 1 Fantasy tight ends this week if Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (quadriceps) are out against the Lions. I'll start Hill even if both receivers play, and he scored at least 12.3 PPR points in four of his past six games. He could be fantastic if his role in the passing game increases, and that would happen if Olave and Shaheed are out. And against the Falcons in Week 12 when Olave and Shaheed were hurt, Johnson had a season-high seven targets for four catches and 45 yards. He has top-10 upside if Olave and Shaheed can't play against the Lions.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Totals 76 yards in loss

Hill caught both of his targets for 55 yards and rushed seven times for 26 yards during Sunday's 24-15 loss to the Falcons. Hill once again showed his value across the offense, including catching a season-long 36-yard reception on a deep pass from Derek Carr in the first quarter. As a result, the versatile tight end logged the Saints' second-most receiving yards behind wideout Chris Olave (114), who was forced out with a concussion during the third quarter. Hill also recorded the team's second-most rushing attempts behind Alvin Kamara (15). However, Hill cost his team dearly when he fumbled after a 10-yard gain into the red zone just before the end of the third quarter. While the 33-year-old rarely grabs the limelight as either a receiver or rusher, his continuous ability to contribute in both phases merits attention from fantasy managers. With Michael Thomas (knee) already on injured reserve, Hill's receiving production could increase if Olave and/or wideout Rashid Shaheed (thigh) are sidelined versus Detroit in Week 13.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Sleeper TEs

The last time we saw Hill in Week 10 prior to the Saints bye was a dud for him against Minnesota with two catches for 17 yards on four targets and one carry for 6 yards. Prior to that, Hill had scored at least 12.3 PPR points in four games in a row, and I'm hopeful he can get back to that level of production. He's scored a touchdown against the Falcons in three games in a row (two passing and one rushing), and Hill will hopefully get the chance for some goal-line carries this week at Atlanta.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Logs three touches in loss

Hill logged one rushing attempt for six yards to go along with two receptions (on four targets) for 17 yards during Sunday's 27-19 loss to Minnesota. Hill looked like he was on pace for another productive night early on, logging two receptions and what wound up being his lone rushing attempt over the Saints' first two offensive series. He fell to the wayside until the third quarter, when he failed to haul in back-to-back passes from backup quarterback Jameis Winston, who stepped in to relieve injured starter Derek Carr (shoulder). Hill's most productive outings this season have come while being used as a running quarterback, but the Saints likely abandoned that portion of the playbook after falling behind 24-3 at halftime. Hill's role as a receiver when lined up at tight end has netted him a consistent 4.6 targets per game over the last five games, but he's still averaged just 7.9 yards per reception over this span. The 33-year-old will look to get more involved after the Saints next play following their Week 11 bye.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: TEs to Start

The plan should be to start Hill until he struggles, but he's hot heading into Week 10 against the Vikings. Hill has scored at least 12.3 PPR points in four games in a row, including two in a row with at least 22.5 PPR points. In his past two outings against the Colts and Bears, Hill has 20 carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns, five catches for 27 yards and a touchdown on six targets and he threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Juwan Johnson against Chicago. We don't know how he'll get it done in Week 10 against Minnesota, but hopefully Hill will continue to help Fantasy managers in a major way for the rest of the season.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Catches one TD, throws another

Hill rushed 11 times for 52 yards, caught four of five targets for 13 yards and a touchdown, and completed his only pass attempt for a three-yard touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Bears. After being stuffed for a one-yard loss on a 2nd-and-goal run from the 1-yard line, Hill moved from under center to tight end and caught a two-yard touchdown on the next play. The next time the Saints got near the goal line, Hill threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Juwan Johnson. After failing to produce a touchdown through six games, Hill has three rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown and one passing touchdown in his last three games. His significant role in the red zone will make Hill an appealing Week 10 fantasy option against Minnesota, especially in formats in which he's eligible at tight end.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Set to play Sunday

Hill (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bears, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. The Saints placed a cap on Hill's reps Wednesday and Thursday due to a hip injury, but it was lifted Friday, when he was able to log a full session. He's thus set to man his typical do-it-all role in New Orleans' offense versus a Chicago defense that has given up a league-worst 81.7 percent catch rate to opposing tight ends this season.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Sleeper TEs

Hill was back to being a wild card for the Saints with Juwan Johnson back in action in Week 8 at Indianapolis, but that worked out well for Hill's Fantasy production. He had nine carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns, along with one catch for 14 yards on one target, and he's now scored at least 12.3 PPR points in three games in a row. While it was great to see him operate like a traditional tight end the previous two games with Johnson out, Hill is always a threat to produce with his legs. He's worth trusting as a low-end No. 1 tight end in this matchup with the Bears.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Remains limited Thursday

Hill (hip) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday. Hill is coming off his most-productive outing of the season Week 8 at Indianapolis, where he had nine carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns, tallied a 14-yard catch and completed one of two passes for 44 yards. With a hip injury impacting him this week, he may have to return to all on-field work Friday in order to avoid a designation for Sunday's game against the Bears.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Expected to play Sunday

Hill (chest) is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Hill is officially listed as questionable coming off a week of practicing in a non-contact jersey, but he's expected to take the field in Indianapolis. His status will be made official when New Orleans releases its inactive list roughly 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Hill has drawn 12 targets over the last two weeks, but his involvement in the passing game is likely to decline with fellow tight end Juwan Johnson making his return Sunday from a four-game absence.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Deemed questionable

Hill (chest) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Indianapolis. Hill has been practicing in a non-contact jersey this week, while fellow tight end Juwan Johnson upgraded to full participation Friday and will return from a four-game absence this Sunday. The past two weeks featured the two largest target counts of Hill's career -- seven and five -- but he's unlikely to match those numbers with Johnson back in the fold. If he does indeed play, Hill likely will return to a hybrid role on offense that typically entails a few carries and perhaps a target or two.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Remains limited Thursday

Hill (chest) was limited in practice Thursday. Hill has been donning a red non-contact jersey in practice so far during Week 8 prep as he deals with a chest injury, per Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football. With back-to-back capped sessions in his back pocket, Hill has only one more chance to get back to all activity Friday, at which point he may enter the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game at Indianapolis. Meanwhile, fellow TEs Juwan Johnson (calf) and Jimmy Graham (illness) also were limited Thursday, creating a murky situation at the position for New Orleans.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

I would have Hill as a must-start Fantasy tight end if we knew Juwan Johnson (calf) would remain out in Week 8 at the Colts or play in a limited role. That's something to monitor because Hill has been great in his past two games. In his past two outings against Houston and Jacksonville, Hill has 11 catches for 99 yards on 13 targets, and he also has six carries for 20 yards and a touchdown. He's scored at least 12.3 PPR points in each game, and I hope the Saints continue to lean on him as a pass catcher. We'll see what happens if Johnson is healthy this week, and the Colts have allowed four tight ends (Tyler Higbee, Evan Engram, Brenton Strange and David Njoku) to score at least 10.4 PPR points in their past four games.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Dealing with chest injury

Hill was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a chest injury, John Hendrix of SI.com reports. Hill's participation at the start of the week, even in a limited capacity, suggests he's more likely than not to play this Sunday against the Colts. His role, however, may be significantly different from the past few weeks with tight end Juwan Johnson (calf) returning to practice Wednesday and potentially suiting up this Sunday after missing four straight games. Hill saw seven and five targets over the past two contests, the first games in his career with more than three.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Week 8 Waiver Priority List

Hill has actually emerged into a quality tight end for the Saints over the past two games, and he's worth buying into as long as Juwan Johnson (calf) remains out. In his past two outings against Houston and Jacksonville, Hill has 11 catches for 99 yards on 13 targets, and he also has six carries for 20 yards and a touchdown. He's scored at least 12.3 PPR points in each game, and you can start him as a low-end No. 1 option in Week 8 at the Colts. We'll see if he stays in this role when Johnson is healthy, but Hill has looked good as a receiving threat, along with his chances to work at the goal line. Add him for 5-10 percent of your FAB.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Another busy night in loss

Hill secured four of five targets for 50 yards and rushed five times for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 31-24 loss to the Jaguars on Thursday night. Hill was efficient on his nine touches, and he scored his first rushing touchdown of the campaign on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter. The 33-year-old has logged multiple carries in all but one game, and his receiving yardage total Thursday was a season high. Hill's boost in involvement as a receiver over the last two games (11-99 line on 13 targets) is certainly encouraging, and he'll have a good matchup in that regard against the Colts in a Week 8 interconference battle Sunday, Oct. 29.

  • Saints' Taysom Hill: Week 7 Waiver Priority List

Can we trust Hill as a traditional tight end? He played that role in Week 6 at Houston with seven catches for 49 yards on eight targets, and the Saints needed him with Juwan Johnson (calf) out. We'll see what happens Thursday night in Week 7 against Jacksonville, but Hill might be worth trusting in deeper leagues. He's worth adding for 1 percent of your FAB.
