Jacob Eason: Loses roster spot
Eason was waived by the Panthers on Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Eason inked a reserve/future contract with the team in January, but it appears his second stint with Carolina has come to an end. A fourth-round selection by the Colts in the 2020 Draft, Eason also has spent time with the Seahawks and 49ers. He'll now need to find a new opportunity.

Panthers' Jacob Eason: Headed to Carolina
The Panthers signed Eason to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Eason was signed to the Panthers' practice squad after being cut by the Seahawks ahead of the initial 53-man roster deadline. He was quickly thrust into backup duties behind PJ Walker after Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold suffered ankle injuries, but Eason was ultimately cut following Darnold's return from injured reserve. Eason then joined the 49ers' practice squad in mid-November and stayed there until he was cut at the beginning of January. With his new deal, he'll rejoin Carolina's organization and be able to compete for a backup role during the offseason.

Jacob Eason: Let go Tuesday
Eason was cut from the 49ers' practice squad Tuesday, Josh Dubow of The Associated Press reports.
Eason joined the team's practice squad Nov. 15, after he was let go by the Panthers. The 25-year old will now work to find another opportunity elsewhere.

Jacob Eason: Signs practice-squad deal
The 49ers signed Eason to the practice squad Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Eason was cut from the Panthers' practice squad Nov. 7, but he'll get another NFL opportunity just a week later. In a corresponding move, the 49ers' cut Kurt Benkert from their practice squad.
