Eagles' Trae Elston: Signs with Philadelphia
Elston signed a contract Wednesday with the Eagles.
After appearing in 14 games in 2017, Elston didn't see any NFL action during the most recent season. The 25-year-old will look to resurface in the league with the Eagles, with whom he appeared in one of those aforementioned 14 contests. Should he earn a roster spot with the Eagles heading into Week 1, Elston would likely see most of his action on special teams.

Dolphins' Trae Elston: Scooped up by Dolphins
The Dolphins claimed Elston off waivers Friday.
Elston was waived by the Bills on Thursday, but found a new home quickly. Mainly a special teams contributor in Buffalo, he figures to do the same for the Dolphins, as well as provide depth at strong safety, not to mention the coaching staff might pick his brain a bit for some pregame strategy since Elston's new team squares off against his previous employer Sunday.

Trae Elston: Released by Bills
Elston was let go by the Bills on Thursday, Mike Rodak of ESPN reports.
Elston played almost exclusively on special teams, although he racked up 18 tackles and an interception across 13 games. His release opens up a roster spot for Buffalo to activate Colt Anderson (forearm) from injured reserve.

Bills' Trae Elston: Shines in first career start
Elston racked up a game-high 11 tackles (eight solo), one pass breakup and one interception against the Raiders on Sunday.
What Elston accomplished in his first career start was incredible, and the Bills likely never saw it coming either as even they released him back in September before picking him up again in early October. He earned his first start because Jordan Poyer (knee) was sidelined, and Poyer is expected back Thursday against the Jets. It'll be interesting to see if Elston will earn more responsibility going forward, or if he'll revert to his normal special teams duties.

Bills' Trae Elston: Starting opportunity
Elston will start at safety this week against the Raiders with starter Jordan Poyer (knee) being ruled inactive, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
This will be the first start of Elston's career, who could stand to have a decent tackle total if Derek Carr throws as much as he did last week in an attempt to beat the Bills' depleted secondary.

Elston was on his way to having an impactful game Thursday before suffering his hamstring injury as he racked up three solo tackles from the strong safety spot. As a probable long shot to make the final roster, any additional time missed could be detrimental for Elston.
