  • Buccaneers' Ryan Jensen: Headed to IR

General manager Jason Licht told reporters Saturday that Jensen (knee) has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the Buccaneers' 2023 campaign, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

Tampa Bay's Pro Bowler will miss his second consecutive season after he tore his ACL, MCL and PCL with a bone chip and fracture in his knee during last year's training camp. The veteran center has spent nine years in the NFL with Baltimore and Tampa Bay, appearing in 100 games throughout his career. Robert Hainsey will now most likely start for the Buccaneers at center ahead of the coming season.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Jensen: Return date still murky

Jensen (knee) will remain sidelined in the immediate future and a Week 1 return is looking doubtful, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Jensen suffered tears in his ACL, MCL and PCL along with a fracture and a bone chip at the beginning of last year's training camp. While he was cleared to participate when training camp commenced, his level of participation was going to depend on his pain tolerance. His lack of improvement does not invoke optimism at this point regarding his potential to play early in the season. Still, Tampa Bay has not provided complete clarity on the situation. Robert Hainsey (undisclosed) is the prime candidate to replace him at center for as long as the veteran is sidelined.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Jensen: Return date still in question

Jensen (knee) is still without a timetable for a return according to head coach Todd Bowles, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jensen has still not been cleared for team drills and has some days that are better than others per Bowles. The 32-year-old has been able to do individual drills since minicamp but is still not quite at full health. While he continues to work on his recovery, Robert Hainsey and Nick Leverett have been sharing center duties thus far in camp.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Jensen: Won't fully participate immediately

Jensen (knee) has been medically cleared to practice in training camp but won't be able to fully participate until his tolerance is assessed, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

The veteran offensive lineman suffered tears of his ACL, MCL and PCL along with a fracture and a bone chip at the beginning of last year's training camp and somehow was able to recover without surgery. Jensen admirably made it back on the field for the wild-card loss to the Cowboys in January despite not being at full health, and the team will "monitor him and we'll see how the knee responds" as camp begins, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Jensen: Impresses in minicamp

Jensen, who missed the entire 2022 regular season due to a knee injury, ran and did work on the blocking sleds without any sign of limping during the team's recent minicamp, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jensen was able to garner active status for the wild-card loss to the Cowboys in January after recovering from three torn ligaments without surgery. However, Jensen was held out of drills during OTAs and minicamp, and despite the encouraging report regarding his activity level, head coach Todd Bowles remains non-committal about whether the same will apply at the beginning of training camp.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Jensen: Not participating Tuesday

Jensen (knee) is present but not participating Tuesday at OTAs, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Jensen missed the entire 2022 regular season while rehabbing from a left knee injury but was activated off injured reserve ahead of the Buccaneers' wild-card loss to Dallas in January. It's unclear if he suffered a setback during his lone appearance of the campaign or he's simply being cautious this offseason, but it's concerning to see the veteran center unavailable and sporting a brace again.
