Jarrod Wilson: Let go by Big Blue
The Giants released Wilson on Sunday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Wilson was signed by the Giants at the beginning of August, but the veteran defensive back was part of the first wave of cuts. Wilson appeared in nine games last year -- spilt between the Jets and 49ers -- after spending the first five years of his career in Jacksonville.

Giants' Jarrod Wilson: Joining Big Blue
Wilson signed a contract with the Giants on Monday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.
The Giants signed the safety after waiving cornerback Jarren Williams (hamstring) with an injury designation in a corresponding move Monday. Wilson accumulated 16 tackles and one sack over 10 games split evenly between the Jets and then later the 49ers last season. The 28-year-old played primarily on special teams (89 snaps) for San Francisco before being waived ahead of the team's appearance in the NFC Championship Game.

Wilson has been up and down from the Jets' practice squad all season, most recently playing in Week 10 against Buffalo. Getting in a total of five games, Wilson recorded 13 tackles (nine solo) and a sack on 167 defensive snaps so far this season. The 27-year-old Michigan product will now look to earn a spot elsewhere.

Wilson has appeared in four games for the Jets this season and will replace Adrian Colbert, who was released earlier Tuesday, on the active roster. Wilson has nine tackles (five solo) on 127 defensive snaps this season, while also contributing on special teams. The six-year vet, in his first season with the Jets, will look to continue to provide depth in the Jets secondary.

Wilson was waived by the Jets earlier Thursday, but he immediately returned to sign with the practice squad. He played on 62 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 4 against Tennessee and has logged a total of five tackles on the season, so it's possible he makes an impact again at some point during the campaign.
