Lanier received a workout with the Giants Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Lanier was waived with an injury settlement by the Saints in September of 2020 due to an undisclosed injury and hasn't signed with a team since. Last seeing NFL action in 2017 with Washington and now apparently healthy, Lanier is working to earn another NFL contract.

Anthony Lanier: Waived with injury settlement
Lanier (undisclosed) was removed from injured reserve with an injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After signing with the Saints on Aug. 29, Lanier was forced to injured reserve with an undisclosed injury. Lanier has appeared on the roster of several NFL teams, most recently Kansas City and Washington in addition to New Orleans.

Saints' Anthony Lanier: Lands on IR to begin season
Lanier (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports.
Lanier signed with the Saints on Aug. 29, so he was a longshot to make the team on short notice. His injury was unfortunate timing as well, as the defensive end will be forced to miss the entire 2020 season.

Anthony Lanier: Waived by Washington
Lanier (hip) was waived by Washington on Monday, Jake Kring-Schreifels of the Redskins' official site reports.
It's a bit of a surprising move by the Redskins, considering Lanier was impressive in a limited showing last season while registering five sacks over the final seven games. The third-year pro has been dealing with a hip flexor over the past few days, so there is a chance he may end up back on the Redskins' injured reserve list should he clear waivers.
