B.W. Webb: Released by San Francisco
The 49ers released Webb on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
After spending six years in the NFL, Webb failed to make the Cardinals' final roster last season and remained a free agent for the entire season. The 49ers signed the 31-year-old this offseason to provide veteran depth to a young secondary, but they will now move in a different direction. It is unclear what type of interest Webb will draw from the rest of the league.

49ers' B.W. Webb: Signing with 49ers
Webb is signing a contract with the 49ers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The veteran defensive back was out of the league last season after being waived by the Cardinals at the end of the preseason, but he returns to the league and delivers some depth to San Francisco's secondary. The 31-year-old has logged stints with the Cowboys, Steelers, Titans, Saints, Giants and Bengals in addition to the Cardinals, but he has never remained with a team for more than one season.

B.W. Webb: Stint ends in AZ
Webb was released by the Cardinals on Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
Webb lasted just one week in the desert after agreeing to a one-year contract last Thursday. The veteran defensive back is coming off a 2019 campaign in which he played 15 games for the Bengals, recording 37 tackles (30 solo), seven passes defensed and one interception in the process.

Cardinals' B.W. Webb: Lands deal with Cards
The Cardinals and Webb agreed to a one-year contract Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
A fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2013, Webb has developed into a starting quarterback throughout his career, combining for 25 starts in 31 appearances the last two seasons between the Giants and Bengals. During that span, he's notched 96 tackles, 13 pass defenses, two interceptions, one sack and one forced fumble. Webb will help cover for an Arizona cornerback corps that lost Robert Alford to a torn pectoral muscle during camp.

The Bengals informed Webb of his release Wednesday, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.
Webb started 13 games for the Giants in 2018 and 12 games for the Bengals in 2019, struggling in coverage more often than not. He's played for six different teams since the Cowboys made him a fourth-round pick back in 2013.

Bengals' B.W. Webb: One pick in 12 starts
Webb had 37 tackles (30 solo) and one interception in 15 games (12 starts) this season.
The 29-year-old joined Cincinnati on a three-year, $10.5 million deal last offseason and ended up working as a starter for most of the season given the multitude of injuries in the secondary. Webb appears poised to enter training camp as the team's nickel cornerback, since presumed starters Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) and William Jackson (shoulder) remain under contract.

Webb and Darqueze Dennard will be the Bengals' starting corners for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Webb and Dennard assume starting roles on the heels of William Jackson III (shoulder) and Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) listed as inactive for Sunday. Webb will be tasked with slowing down a plethera of young receivers for Jacksonville, specifically D.J. Chark on the outside for Week 7. In five games this season, Webb has amassed just eight tackles (six solo) and two passes defended.

Webb logged his first reception of the season Sunday, during a game in which New York's defense picked off Buccaneers' quarterbacks a total of four times.
