Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Little help in loss
Miller (10-4) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Tigers.
Miller put in a sharp performance, but the Dodgers' offense didn't give him enough run support. This was his first loss in five starts, and he's gone at least six innings in seven of his last eight appearances. Miller is at a 3.97 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 106:31 K:BB through 113.1 innings over 20 starts this season. He's lined up for a road outing in Colorado for his next start.... See More ... See Less

Miller (10-3) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Friday.
Miller came up an out short of a quality start, but he was still able to earn his fourth win in his last six starts. In that span, he's given up 18 runs over 38 innings. The rookie right-hander is at a 4.02 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 99:30 K:BB through 107.1 innings through 19 starts this season. Miller's projected for a favorable home start versus the Tigers next week.... Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Fans eight in no-decision
Miller came away with a no-decision Saturday in the Dodgers' 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Nationals, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.
First pitch was delayed by over four hours due to rain, and Miller ended up delivering an erratic performance once the tarp was rolled back. The rookie right-hander set a new personal best for strikeouts in a start, generating 33 called or swinging strikes on 99 pitches, but he also gave up more than four runs for the first time since June 24. Miller also served up a homer for the fourth straight outing -- a two-run shot by Lane Thomas in the seventh inning -- and over that stretch he has a 4.78 ERA and 22:6 K:BB through 26.1 innings. Miller will look to get back on track in his next start, likely to come next weekend in Seattle.... See More ... See Less

Miller (9-3) allowed a run on three hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Sunday.
Miller had given up four runs in back-to-back starts, but he was able to put together a dominant outing against the best team in the majors. The rookie right-hander had not pitched more than 6.1 innings in any of his outings prior to Sunday. Miller is now at a 3.80 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 84:26 K:BB through 94.2 innings over 17 starts. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Nationals.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Gives up four runs in win
Miller (8-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win Monday over the Diamondbacks.
Miller wasn't at his best, throwing 58 of 86 pitches for strikes in the outing, but the Dodgers' offense gave him enough support to get the win. The rookie right-hander received an extra day of rest between starts after throwing 97 pitches in a loss to the Guardians in his previous outing. He's still holding his own overall, ending August with 11 runs allowed (10 earned) over 28 innings. For the year, Miller has a 4.00 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 79:25 K:BB through 87.2 innings across 16 starts. He's projected for an intimidating home start against Atlanta this weekend.... See More ... Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Dealt third loss Tuesday
Miller dropped to 7-3 in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Guardians after allowing four earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five across 6.1 innings.
Though the Dodgers staked Miller to an early 3-0 lead, the rookie couldn't hold up to his end of the bargain after holding the Guardians scoreless through three frames. He served up a solo home run and allowed another run in the fourth, then allowed consecutive runners to reach base with one out in the bottom of the seventh before he exited the contest. Reliever Caleb Ferguson ended up allowing both inherited runners to score, resulting in Miller being saddled with the loss. After the game, manager Dave Roberts told Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times that Miller won't be pitching in Sunday's series finale in Boston, as the Dodgers want to give the 24-year-old some extra rest coming off the 97-pitch outing. Miller will be denied a two-start week as a result, though he would line up for one the following week. He tentatively lines up to make his next turn Monday versus the Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Strong again Tuesday
Miller (7-2) allowed a run on a hit and a walk while striking out four over six innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Brewers.
Miller allowed the first two batters in the game to reach base and gave up a run on a fielder's choice, but he retired 18 straight after finding his way in the shaky opening frame. He's up to six quality starts in 14 outings this season, pitching to a solid 3.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 70:22 K:BB through 75.1 innings. Miller is projected to make his next start at home versus the Marlins this weekend.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Throws six shutout innings
Miller allowed four hits and four walks while striking out four over six shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Miller was solid in this start after going 3.2 innings in his previous outing. The downside was that the four walks were a season high, though this was also his third scoreless outing and fifth quality start of the campaign. Miller is at a 3.89 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 66:21 K:BB through 69.1 innings over 13 starts. He appears likely to hold down the fifth start spot in the rotation going forward, with his next outing tentatively lined up to be at home versus the Brewers next week.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Inefficient Friday
Miller allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.
Miller needed 82 pitches (49 strikes) to get 11 outs in an inefficient start. The right-hander has given up nine runs (eight earned) over 19.1 innings across his four appearances since the All-Star break. He's at a 4.26 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB through 63.1 innings across 12 starts overall. Miller is projected for a tough road start in Arizona next week, and he may be at risk of losing his place in the rotation if the Dodgers opt to put Ryan Yarbrough in his place in the coming weeks.... Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Surrenders three runs in loss
Miller (6-2) allowed three runs on six hits and struck out six without walking a batter over five innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Reds.
The Reds did their damage in the first inning, which included Jake Fraley tagging Miller for a two-run home run. Miller appears to be mostly back on track, having allowed seven runs over his last 15.2 innings following a rough stretch in the latter half of June. The rookie right-hander has a 4.37 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 59:16 K:BB through 59.2 innings over 11 starts this season. He's tentatively projected for a road start versus the Padres next week, though that could change if the Dodgers continue to add starting pitching ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. Miller likely has the upper hand on remaining in the rotation over Emmet Sheehan and Michael Grove, who have both struggled lately and will get one more audition each over the remainder of this weekend's series.... Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Cruises to sixth win
Miller (6-1) picked up the win in Saturday's 16-3 rout of the Rangers, giving up three runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.
Texas actually grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Miller and the Dodgers' offense each buckled down and got to work after that. The quality start was the first since June 10 for the rookie right-hander, but he's delivered four in his first 10 big-league outings. Miller will carry a 4.28 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB through 54.2 innings into his next start, likely to come at home next weekend against the Reds.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Cleared to start Saturday
Miller (knee) is listed as the Dodgers' probable starter for Saturday's game against the Rangers in Arlington, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Miller experienced right knee discomfort in his most recent outing last Sunday versus the Mets, but the injury apparently won't force him to miss a turn through the rotation as he returns to the mound this weekend on five days rest. Since opening his big-league career with a 0.78 ERA and 0.83 WHIP over his first four starts, Miller has failed to reach the sixth inning in any of his subsequent five outings while posting a 7.36 ERA and 1.52 WHIP.... Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Managing right knee discomfort
Miller exited Sunday's game against the Mets due to right knee discomfort, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Miller got into a jam in the fifth inning and exited with a trainer after tossing 4.2 innings. He said after the game that he was "all good" and said that he wanted to pitch through the issue. Given his postgame comments, it seems unlikely that the right-hander will be forced to miss any turns through the rotation, but he'll presumably be monitored by the team's medical staff in the coming days. Prior to his departure, he allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out five.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Yields four runs in win
Miller (5-1) allowed four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over 5.2 innings to earn the win in Wednesday's 6-4 vicotry over the Pirates.
All four runs against him came on home runs by Bryan Reynolds and Jack Suwinski. The Dodgers then proceeded to score six times over the fourth and fifth innings, allowing Miller to emerge with his second straight win despite not having his sharpest stuff. The right-hander has given up seven runs over 11.1 innings across his last two outings. He's at a 4.50 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB through 44 innings over eight starts. Miller has likely done well enough to stick in the Dodgers' rotation following the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less
Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Decent in win over Royals
Miller (4-1) allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Royals on Friday.
Miller came up one out short of a quality start, but this was still a vast improvement over his last two outings, in which he gave up a combined 13 runs over 9.2 innings. The rookie right-hander now has a 4.23 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB over 38.1 innings through his first seven big-league starts. He's still walking a few too many batters to be dominant, but his rotation spot is likely safe at least until Noah Syndergaard (finger) returns. Miller is projected for a home start versus the Pirates next week.... See More ... See Less
