Gardner was placed on waivers Monday for the purpose of loaning him to AHL Lehigh Valley.
Gardner signed a two-year deal with the Flyers in the summer after supplying 10 goals, 40 points and 75 PIM in 71 games with AHL Texas last campaign. The 27-year-old forward has one goal and one assist in 40 career NHL appearances.
