Davis (back) is available for Game 3 against the Nuggets on Thursday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. As has been the trend throughout the regular season and the playoffs, Davis appeared on the injury report but has been listed as available closer to tipoff. Davis has averaged 32.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per game in the first two games of the series against the Nuggets.... See More ... See Less

Lakers' Anthony Davis: Probable for Thursday
Davis (back) is probable for Thursday's Game 3 matchup with the Nuggets, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Davis played through the back issue during Game 2 and logged 39 minutes on his way to a 32-point, 11-rebound double-double, so it clearly didn't impact him all that much. We should get official confirmation on his status closer to Thursday's tip.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Leads Lakers in Game 2 defeat
Davis ended Monday's 101-99 loss to the Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 32 points (14-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 39 minutes. Davis has led the Lakers in scoring in each of the first two games of the series, but despite producing back-to-back 30-plus point efforts in the matchup against Nikola Jokic, the Lakers have fallen short of victory both times. Davis will likely land on the injury report ahead of Game 3, but given the situation and the workload he's handled in the first two games of the series, the star big man shouldn't have problems being active for Game 3 on Thursday.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Officially active
Davis (back) has been cleared to play in Monday's Game 2 against Denver, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Davis was labeled as probable for Monday's matchup due to low back soreness, and he's since been given the green light to suit up. He'll need another big performance in Game 2 for LA to even the series.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Likely to play in Game 2
Davis (back) is probable for Monday's Game 2 against the Nuggets, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Despite his continued low back soreness, Davis will likely be able to suit up once again as the Lakers attempt to even the first-round series. He played 44 minutes in Saturday's Game 1 loss, totaling 32 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and four blocks.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Loaded line not enough in Game 1
Davis had 32 points (12-23 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists and four blocks over 44 minutes during Saturday's 114-103 loss to the Nuggets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Davis led the Lakers in scoring and posted a massive stat line, but his efforts were not enough for the Lakers, as the Nuggets ran away with the game in the second half despite their slow start. Regardless of the outcome, Davis was one of the top individual performers in Saturday's playoff slate, and he should continue to operate as a key asset for the Lakers on both ends of the court in Game 2 on Monday.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Will play Saturday vs. Denver
Davis (back) has been upgraded to available for Game 1 against the Nuggets on Saturday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Similar to what happens with LeBron James, Davis has been listed on the injury report pretty much the entire season but has been available for every important game, so his availability is not surprising here. The star big man should handle his regular workload, as well as his regular usage rate, in the playoff opener.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Expected to play in Game 1
Davis (back) is probable for Saturday's Game 1 against Denver, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Davis continues to be added to the injury report due to low back soreness, but the issue isn't expected to keep him out of Saturday's action. The team should confirm his availability closer to tipoff.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Clutch performance in win
Davis contributed 20 points (6-16 FG, 8-10 FT), 15 rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 40 minutes during Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game victory over the Pelicans. Davis was able to battle through back spasms in Tuesday's win and thinks the extra rest before Saturday's Game 1 against the Nuggets will allow him to fully recover, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. While the star big man struggled from the field, he hauled in a clutch offensive rebound off a LeBron James miss with 15 seconds and was able to convert on four free throws down the stretch to ice the game.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Good to go for primetime
Davis (back) has been cleared for Wednesday's Play-In Tournament game against New Orleans, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Davis' aggravating his back/hip spasms in Sunday's win over New Orleans is troubling given that he has battled the affliction all season, but he appears to be no worse for the wear. A rematch against New Orleans pits Davis versus Zion Williamson and Jonas Valanciunas, while Davis has averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 blocks across four contests versus the Pelicans this season.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Officially questionable
Davis (back) is questionable for Tuesday's Play-In game against the Pelicans. Davis landed awkwardly after a collision with Larry Nance during a rebounding attempt in Sunday's regular-season finale versus New Orleans and experienced hip and back spasms, knocking him out for the final five minutes of a blowout win. After the game, Davis and coach Darvin Ham downplayed the injury, but the Lakers' medical staff will have the final say on the big man's availability for Tuesday's rematch. Before leaving, Davis dominated the Pelicans, posting 30 points (13-17 FG), 11 rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Confirms intention to play
Davis (back) confirmed after Sunday's 124-108 win over the Pelicans that he intends to play in Tuesday's rematch with New Orleans in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. "There's no doubt I'm gonna play [on Tuesday]," Davis said. The Lakers' medical staff will have the final say regarding Davis' availability, but both he and head coach Darvin Ham are optimistic that the star big man will be ready to go after Monday's off day. Davis finished Sunday's win with 30 points (13-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes before exiting with 5:22 left in the fourth quarter, shortly after he said his lower back locked up when he was shoved from behind while in the air.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Dealing with back spasms
Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said Davis experienced hip and back spasms after landing awkwardly on the court in the second half of Sunday's 124-108 win over the Pelicans, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Davis finished with 30 points (13-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes. Davis headed to the locker room during the win and left the game for good with 5:22 remaining in the fourth quarter, when the Lakers held a 21-point lead. Given the Lakers' big advantage, Davis' early removal might have been more of a byproduct of the blowout than the injury, and Ham relayed that he's "extremely optimistic" regarding the big man's availability for Tuesday's rematch with the Pelicans in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament, according to Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Heads to locker room
Davis has gone to the locker room after suffering a lower body injury during Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Davis limped off the court after he appeared to get pushed on a rebound attempt in the fourth quarter. The Lakers held a sizable lead at the time, so it seems unlikely Davis will return. If that's the case, all attention will turn to Davis' availability for the Play-In Tournament rematch against New Orleans on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Good to go Sunday
Davis (eye) has been cleared for Sunday's game against New Orleans, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Unsurprisingly, Davis and LeBron James (ankle) are both active for a climactic regular-season finale Sunday. A Lakers win would result in the Pelicans slipping into the Play-In Tournament, while Phoenix would move into the sixth seed in the Western Conference -- allowing Los Angeles to dodge them initially.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Likely to play Sunday
Davis (eye) is probable for Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. The Lakers are expected to be close to full strength for the season finale, as LeBron James (ankle) is also expected to suit up. Davis recently dropped 36 points (11-22 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 13-17 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal over 43 minutes during Friday's 123-120 win over the Grizzlies.... See More ... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Posts big line in return
Davis logged 36 points (11-22 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 13-17 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal over 43 minutes during Friday's 123-120 victory over the Grizzlies. Davis missed Tuesday's loss to Golden State due to a headache and nausea, but he was able to suit up for Friday's contest. He and fellow All-Star LeBron James combined for 73 points in a key win that helped propel the Lakers to the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. Including Friday's performance, Davis has put up at least 35 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks on five occasions this season. The Lakers can clinch the No. 8 seed with a win in Sunday's regular-season finale in New Orleans but could fall to as low as 10th with a loss, so Davis and the rest of the team's starters figure to suit up and play their full allotment of minutes.... Lakers' Anthony Davis: Available to play Friday
Davis (head) is available for Friday's game against Memphis, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. This was the expectation with Davis carrying a probable tag prior to this update. LeBron James (ankle) also has the green light to suit up.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Probable to play Friday
Davis (head) is probable to face the Grizzlies on Friday. The probable tag suggests Davis is trending in the right direction after he missed Tuesday's loss to the Warriors due to a headache and nausea. The star big man will be key for the Lakers' playoff hopes, however, and Los Angeles will likely be as cautious as possible regarding his health with only two games left in the regular season. Davis has averaged 24.5 points, 14.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.2 blocks per game over his last 10 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Won't play Tuesday
Davis is out for Tuesday's game versus the Warriors due to a headache and nausea, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports. Davis suffered an eye injury against Minnesota that appears to now be causing a headache and nausea, causing him to sit out against Golden State. Jaxson Hayes will likely start in his absence. Davis' next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Memphis.... See More ... See Less
