  • Lakers' Austin Reaves: Probable for Monday

Reaves (ankle) is listed as probable for Monday's matchup versus the Pistons, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.

Reaves sprained his right ankle during Friday's win over the Raptors, though he was able to re-enter the game after heading back to the locker room. The 26-year-old was able to practice Sunday and will likely play through the minor injury.

  • Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Iffy for Monday

Russell is questionable for Monday's game against the Pistons due to a right foot contusion, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.

This is a new injury for Russell, as he was previously dealing with a minor back issue. He's scored in double figures in four straight games, averaging 14.8 points, 6.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game during that stretch. If he's sidelined, Gabe Vincent, Max Christie and Dalton Knecht would be candidates for increased minutes.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Likely to play Monday

Davis (hip) is listed as probable for Monday's matchup versus the Pistons, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.

Davis will likely play through right hip soreness as he looks to continue his dominant season, during which he has averaged 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, 4.0 steals-plus-blocks and 2.8 assists across 35.8 minutes per game in six regular-season outings. The big man has produced a double-double in three consecutive games, and he has amassed four total on the season.

  • Lakers' Jaxson Hayes: NBA reopening investigation

The NBA is reopening an investigation into a 2021 altercation involving Hayes and his former girlfriend, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports.

The NBA did not discipline Hayes following its initial investigation into Hayes' 2021 arrest, but new footage was released by TMZ on Saturday. "We're obviously aware that the investigation has been reopened, and we're going to cooperate fully," coach JJ Redick said after Saturday's practice.

  • Lakers' Austin Reaves: Practices Sunday

Reaves participated in Sunday's practice and was spotted icing his ankle afterward, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.

Reaves went to the locker room during Friday night's game against the Raptors with a lower body injury and was later able to re-enter the matchup, but it appears he's still feeling the issue days later. His availability for Monday's game in Detroit doesn't appear to be in jeopardy at this time, though it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Lakers add him to the injury report if the ankle is still bugging him.

  • Lakers' Jarred Vanderbilt: Takes part in shooting drills

Vanderbilt (foot) was spotted participating in light shooting drills following Sunday's practice, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.

Vanderbilt doesn't appear to be all that close to a return to play just yet, but he's trending in the right direction. If all goes well in his rehab, the forward should continue to ramp up basketball activities over the next week or so, at which point another update is expected to surface.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Posts season-high 38 points

Davis supplied 38 points (14-20 FG, 10-11 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals across 36 minutes during Friday's 131-125 victory over the Raptors.

Davis played through a hip injury Saturday and turned in his best performance of the season. Not only did Davis score efficiently and with volume, but he recorded his third straight double-double. The superstar big man has also recorded at least one steal and one block in all six of his appearances in 2024-25.

  • Lakers' Rui Hachimura: Quiet again Friday

Hachimura finished Friday's 131-125 victory over Toronto with nine points (3-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 33 minutes.

This was Hachimura's second straight game scoring in single digits. While it is frustrating, the positive is that his playing time has remained relatively consistent no matter his statistical output. He has exceeded 30 minutes in all but one game thus far, averaging 14.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers. Despite his recent struggles, Hachimura should continue to serve as a key piece for the Lakers, making him a viable target.

  • Lakers' Jaxson Hayes: Blocks two shots Friday

Hayes supplied four points (1-1 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two blocks over 15 minutes during Friday's 131-125 victory over the Raptors.

Hayes blocked a season-high two shots, although his playing time remains underwhelming. Anthony Davis has started the season on fire, limiting Hayes to just 15.7 minutes per night. While he can be a decent per-minute producer, he would likely need for Davis to miss time to have any shot at playing meaningful minutes.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Inefficient in victory

Vincent contributed two points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 21 minutes during Friday's 131-125 win over the Raptors.

Vincent went just 1-of-6 from the field, continuing his underwhelming start to the season. While it is great to see him healthy and back on the court after missing the majority of last season due to injury, Vincent's real-life impact is far greater than his statistical production would lead you to believe. At this stage, he would need an injury to D'Angelo Russell to have any chance at converting playing time into tangible numbers.

  • Lakers' Austin Reaves: Available to return Friday

Reaves (lower body) is available for the second half of Friday's game versus Toronto, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

Reaves went to the locker room late in the first half but has the green light to start the second half. He posted 13 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four assists, one rebound and one block in 14 first-half minutes.

  • Lakers' Austin Reaves: Goes to locker room in pain

Reaves went to the locker room during Friday's game against the Raptors due to a lower body injury, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Woike notes that Reaves was in a lot of pain as he limped off the court, but it's unclear if he hurt his ankle or knee. Reaves posted 13 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four assists, one rebound and one block in 14 first-half minutes. If he's unable to return for the second half, Gabe Vincent, Max Christie and Dalton Knecht would be candidates for increased roles.

  • Lakers' Jarred Vanderbilt: Out at least another week

Head coach JJ Redick said Friday that Vanderbilt (foot) is progressing, but the big man is still experiencing some "minor discomfort," Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. "I don't think he's a day or two away from playing," Redick said. "We'll have another update in a week or so."

Vanderbilt has yet to suit up this season while recovering from offseason procedures on both of his feet. Though Redick stressed that Vanderbilt's discomfort is normal for a player recovering from an injury, the Lakers likely won't have a firm timeline for the 25-year-old to make his 2024-25 debut until he resumes practicing with contact.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Good to go Friday vs. TOR

Davis (hip) is available for Friday's game versus the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Davis sustained a minor hip injury during Wednesday's loss to the Cavaliers. However, the big man will play through the injury, though it is unclear whether he will operate under a minutes restriction. The 31-year-old has produced a stellar start to the 2024-25 campaign, during which he has averaged 30.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.8 steals-plus-blocks and 3.0 assists across 36.0 minutes per game in five regular-season outings.

  • Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Available Friday

Russell (back) is available for Friday's game against the Raptors, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Russell has been upgraded from probable to available Friday. The 28-year-old sustained the lower back soreness from Monday's loss to the Suns, and he was held to only 24 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland, though that restriction was likely due to the fact the Lakers were getting blown out. Russell is expected to shoulder his normal workload against the Raptors, and he has averaged 10.8 points and 5.6 assists across 30.6 minutes per game in five regular-season outings thus far.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Suffers minor hip injury

Davis is probable for Friday's game against the Raptors.

Davis appears to have suffered a minor hip injury during Wednesday's loss to the Cavs, but it's unlikely to keep him from Friday's clash. He'll likely test out his hip during morning shootaround before the team comments further on his availability.

  • Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Expected to play Friday

Russell (back) is listed as probable for Friday's game versus the Raptors.

Russell is expected to suit up Friday despite dealing with lower back soreness. In his most recent outing, the 28-year-old guard tallied 10 points, five assists and three rebounds in 24 minutes.

  • Lakers' Dalton Knecht: Drops career high in loss

Knecht put up 18 points (6-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and an assist across 22 minutes in Wednesday's 134-110 loss to the Cavaliers.

Knecht's 18 points mark a career high in his very young career, and he was one of the very few bright spots in Wednesday's loss. If the rookie continues to elevate his play, he could carve out a larger role for himself as the season progresses.
