Gilgeous-Alexander chipped in 34 points (13-21 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two blocks over 37 minutes during Sunday's 101-99 win over Denver.
While Denver played without two-time MVP Nikola Jokic (hamstring) and another key starter Michael Porter (personal), Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for Oklahoma City as it snapped Denver's nine-game winning streak. As has been the case on many occasions since he arrived in Oklahoma City, Gilgeous-Alexander showed a flair for the dramatic, hitting a game-winning eight-foot jumper with 9.2 seconds left in the fourth quarter to break a 99-99 tie. The elite guard is having an excellent January, averaging 30.2 points, 4.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.2 blocks and 0.9 triples in 10 games while shooting 54.6 percent from the field and 88.3 percent from the free-throw line.
