  • Bills' David Edwards: Gets two-year extension with Bills

Buffalo and Edwards agreed to terms Wednesday on a two-year, $6 million contract extension, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Edwards played at a high level in 2023, his debut season with the Bills, and keeping the veteran guard around at a $3 million annual salary is a no-brainer as he heads into his age-27 season. The two-year extension includes nearly $3 million guaranteed with up to $1.2 million annually in playing time-based incentives. Edwards is also in a better spot to emerge as a full-time starter in 2024 after the Bills traded Ryan Bates to the Bears earlier this week.

  • Bills' David Edwards: Heads to Buffalo

Edwards signed with the Bills on Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Edwards spent the first four seasons of his career with the Rams after being selected by them in the fifth round of the 2019 Draft. The veteran guard missed significant time last season due to a concussion, appearing and starting in just four games. Now presumably past the issue, he may have the opportunity to compete for a starting job in Buffalo, and at least should bolster the team's depth across the offensive line.

  • Rams' David Edwards: Done for season

Edwards (concussion) reverted to IR on Wednesday and will be out for the remainder of the season, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Edwards was placed on IR on Oct. 11 after suffering his second concussion of the season. He was designated to return Nov. 16, which opened a 21-day window for him to practice with the team before he would need to be placed on the active roster. However, that 21-day period has since passed without Edwards regaining his active roster spot. Per league rules, Edwards will need to miss the remainder of the season.

  • Rams' David Edwards: Not ready to return

Edwards (concussion) isn't in line to play Sunday against the Saints after suffering a setback, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Edwards sustained a concussion back in Week 5 versus Dallas, and he was then placed on injured reserve up until Wednesday. The 25-year-old apparently encountered a setback in his recovery Friday, which will cause him to miss a fifth consecutive contest Sunday versus New Orleans. Edwards' next chance to suit up will now come Week 12 in Kansas City.

  • Rams' David Edwards: Designated to return from IR

Edwards (concussion) was designated to return from injured reserve and returned to practice Wednesday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Edwards was placed on IR in mid-October due to a concussion, but he's making progress toward a return. With the move, the Rams open up a 21-day window for the offensive guard to be added to the active roster, but if he isn't, he'll revert back to injured reserve for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Rams' David Edwards: Placed on IR

Edwards (concussion) was placed on the Rams' injured reserve list Tuesday.

Edwards missed Week 4 due to an illness but wound up with a concussion on the team's injury report later that week. The guard then played in Week 5 and suffered another head injury that caused him to enter concussion protocols. With the starting 25-year-old sidelined, the Rams will be thin at offensive line. Edwards played 226 of the team's snaps through his four games.

  • Rams' David Edwards: Enters concussion protocol

Edwards suffered a concussion during Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Cowboys, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Edwards was replaced by Bobby Evans after exiting this Week 4 contest, though Rams coach Sean McVay did not confirm who would step in as the team's starting left guard during Sunday's game against the Panthers if Edwards has to sit out, according to Jackson. The 25-year-old started every game for Los Angeles last season, so his potential absence will mark a significant loss for the team's banged-up offensive line.

  • Rams' David Edwards: Being evaluated for concussion

Edwards is being evaluated for a concussion after exiting Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

Edwards missed last week's game against the 49ers since he was in the concussion protocol, and he sustained another head injury against Dallas. If he's diagnosed with a concussion, he'll have several steps to clear if he hopes to play next Sunday against Carolina.
