Woll was assigned to AHL Toronto on Monday.
Woll stopped 86 of 94 shots in four postseason outings with the Maple Leafs, en route to a 1-2 record. He will try to help the Marlies stave off elimination from the Calder Cup Playoffs in Game 3 against Rochester on Wednesday. Woll posted a 16-4-1 record with a 2.37 GAA and a .927 save percentage in 21 AHL appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Comes up short in OT
Woll made 40 saves in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Panthers in Game 5 of the Maple Leafs' second-round series.
Making his second straight start, Woll found himself in a 2-0 hole after the first period, but the rookie netminder stood on his head in the second and turned aside all 18 shots he faced, giving the Leafs a chance to mount a comeback that ultimately fell short in OT. With their season now over, the focus will soon turn to the 2023-24 campaign, and the 24-year-old could play a significant role in it -- Ilya Samsonov (upper body) is a free agent this summer, and while Matt Murray has one more season left on his contract, his inconsistency and troubles staying healthy could leave Toronto's starting job in net wide open.

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Expected to start Friday
Woll will guard the home crease in Game 5 against Florida on Friday, Joshua Clipperton of The Canadian Press reports.
With the Maple Leafs down 3-0 in their second-round series, Woll kept Toronto's hopes alive by stopping 24 of 25 shots en route to a 2-1 victory over the Panthers on Wednesday. It was the 24-year-old's first career playoff start, which he got because Ilya Samsonov (upper body) was unavailable. Samsonov isn't expected to be an option for Friday's contest either. Florida has averaged 3.36 goals per game in the 2023 postseason.

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Keeps team alive with Game 4 win
Woll made 24 saves in Wednesday's 2-1 Game 4 win over the Panthers.
Sam Reinhart ended Woll's shutout bid with 7:47 remaining in the third period, but Toronto scored twice before then to give the goalie adequate support to extend the team's season. Woll got the Maple Leafs on the board in this series with a win in his first playoff start, but Toronto still trails 3-1 heading into Game 5 on Friday. Even if Ilya Samsonov (upper body) recovers by Friday, it wouldn't be surprising to see Toronto stick with Woll after this season-saving performance.

Woll, who has made two relief appearances this postseason, will start for the first time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in a must-win contest for the Maple Leafs. Ilya Samsonov is unavailable after sustaining an upper-body injury in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Panthers, while Matt Murray hasn't played since April 2 because of a concussion. Murray will serve as Woll's backup Wednesday. The 24-year-old Woll posted a 6-1-0 record with Toronto during the 2022-23 regular season with a 2.16 GAA and a .932 save percentage.

Kaapo Kakko scored a backhander from the right circle early in the first period. Artemi Panarin ripped in a power-play snipe at 6:26 of the third that pushed the Rangers up 2-1.
