Cuylle finished the regular season with 13 goals, eight assists and 247 hits in 81 appearances. Cuylle led all rookies in hits. The 22-year-old power forward slowed down offensively after mid-February, mustering just three goals without an assist over the final 27 games of the regular season. He's locked into a third-line role heading into the playoffs but rarely features on the Rangers' outstanding power play or penalty kill.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Will Cuylle: Not playing Saturday
Cullye will be a healthy scratch at home versus Florida on Saturday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports. Cullye will sit out his first game of the season. The Rangers have 13 forwards and are likely to alternate Cullye, Jonny Brodzinski and Matt Rempe as healthy scratches down the stretch -- barring any injuries. Brodzinski will replace Cullye on the third line Saturday alongside Alexander Wennberg and Kaapo Kakko. Cullye has 12 goals, eight assists and 227 hits in 70 games this season.... See More ... Rangers' Will Cuylle: Shows skill, grit in rivalry win
Cuylle scored his 12th goal of the season and dished out eight hits in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Islanders. Cuylle put the Rangers up 2-1 in the second period, getting open for a stretch pass at the Islanders' blue line before hammering the puck past Ilya Sorokin. The physical rookie has more skill than your typical fourth-liner, but Cuylle isn't afraid to throw his body around, as evidenced by his game-high hit total Sunday. He added two shots and a plus-2 rating to his ledger in the victory. Cuylle has a bright future as a power forward for the Rangers, though his path to a larger role in the immediate future is complicated by the organization's depth at left wing.... See More ... Rangers' Will Cuylle: Stable bottom-six role
Cuylle had one shot on goal and two hits in Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Avalanche, which marked his 22nd birthday and 50th appearance of the season. The Rangers played their 50th game of the season coming out of the All-Star break, and Cuylle has dressed for all of them. The physical winger came into this campaign with only four contests of NHL experience, but Cuylle's blend of energy and skill has made him a bottom-six staple for the Metropolitan Division leaders. He has eight goals, six assists, 72 shots and 130 hits in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Will Cuylle: Notches third goal
Cuylle scored a goal and delivered five hits in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Red Wings. Cuylle capped the scoring in the Rangers' four-goal second period, deflecting a Zac Jones shot past Ville Husso to extend New York's lead to 5-0. The 21-year-old Cuylle now has a point in three straight games, tallying two goals and an assist in that span after recording just one goal through his first nine contests. The rookie winger also leads the Rangers with 30 hits through 12 games this year as he continues to look more comfortable on New York's third line.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Will Cuylle: Back in AHL
Cuylle was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Thursday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Cuylle played two games this week and was in a fight Monday versus MacKenzie Weeger of the Flames. Cuylle has no points in four NHL games this season with eight hits, 10 PIM and no shots on goal.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Will Cuylle: Recalled from Hartford
Cuylle was recalled from AHL Hartford on Sunday. Cuylle, who was sent down before the All-Star break, should compete for a bottom-six role with Sammy Blais, who was also recalled from a conditioning stint with Hartford. Cuylle logged seven hits and a fighting major in his first two NHL contests. The 21-year-old winger had 14 goals and seven assists through 42 AHL contests.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Will Cuylle: Skates 5:49 in NHL debut
Cuylle had four hits and a minus-1 rating across 5:49 of ice time in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. The Toronto native made his NHL debut in front of friends and family at Scotiabank Arena. Cuylle was caught on the ice for a goal against on his first NHL shift, resulting in the minus-1 rating. The 20-year-old winger proceeded to throw his body around and also showed off some skill with a nice pass to set up a chance for Julien Gauthier. The second-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft brings an enticing mix of size and scoring ability, though Cuylle won't get a chance to show the latter much while being deployed in a fourth-line role as he gets acclimated to the NHL.... Blue Line Station@BlueLineStation4D agoThe winner of this Canes-Rangers series probably wins the cup. These are the two best teams in the NHL. This is the toughest hurdle either team will face.

Joe Fortunato@JoeFortunatoBSB6D agoAll that said, Rangers of old would have let this series drag to six or seven games. They didn’t. They put Washington down when they had their foot on their neck and that’s what great teams do. Rest up, reset, and hope Islanders Canes goes deeper.

Blue Line Station@BlueLineStation6D agoThat was NOT a convincing sweep. New York has a lot to clean up. Washington shouldn’t have been a playoff team and despite winning four straight, the Rangers made hard work of it. Against Carolina, assuming it is Carolina, they will be made to pay. Have to clean this up.
