  • Senators' Josh Norris: Slated to be ready for camp

Norris (shoulder) is on track to be a full participant during training camp, general manager Steve Staios told Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia on Wednesday.

Norris didn't play past Feb. 27 last season due to his shoulder injury. He had 16 goals and 30 points in 50 outings with the Senators in 2023-24. Provided the 25-year-old is healthy, Norris should serve in a top-six capacity and as a member of the first power-play unit.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Will be ready for training camp

Norris (shoulder) will be ready for the start of training camp in September, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.

Norris underwent his third shoulder operation in his career in March and he is well on his way to recovery. The talented center had 16 goals and 30 points in 50 games this season, but he struggled at times due to his lingering shoulder woes. Norris has missed 106 games over the last two seasons, dampening his fantasy value heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Undergoes third shoulder procedure

Norris will not play again this season after undergoing shoulder surgery, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports Monday.

Norris has been plagued with shoulder injuries throughout his young career, with this being his third time going under the knife. At this point, it's safe to wonder how long the 24-year-old center can continue playing without risking permanent damage. Norris will end the 2023-24 campaign having registered 16 goals and 14 assists, including 12 power-play points, in 50 games.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Lands on long-term IR

Norris (shoulder) was placed on long-term injured reserve Friday, per CapFriendly.

Norris suffered an apparent shoulder injury Tuesday versus the Predators. He's had multiple shoulder surgeries in his young career and could miss the remainder of the season. Norris has picked up 16 goals and 30 points in 50 games this season.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Surfaces on injured reserve

Norris (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Norris was already labeled out for an extended period due to the injury he sustained Tuesday versus the Predators. The Senators have been up against the salary cap all season, so Norris could be placed on long-term injured reserve soon.-

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Facing extended absence

Norris will be out for an extended period due to his upper-body injury, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

It appears the results of the MRI Norris underwent Wednesday weren't favorable. With Norris, who's notched 16 goals and 30 points through 50 contests this season, expected to be sidelined longer term, it wouldn't be surprising to see him land on injured reserve in the coming days. The Senators will presumably need to promote a forward from the minors to fill in while Norris is on the shelf.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Undergoes MRI

Norris (upper body) is awaiting the results of an MRI conducted Wednesday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

Norris has dealt with several shoulder injuries throughout his career and there is concern that this latest problem could be related. In his last 10 outings, the 24-year-old has generated four goals on 16 shots and two assists, including two power-play helpers. If Norris does miss any time, he figures to be replaced in the lineup by Rourke Chartier, who is currently plying his trade in the minors.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Sustains upper-body injury

Norris (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Predators.

Norris crashed hard into the net in the second period, and based on where he hit it, there's concern for his surgically-repaired shoulder. The center has four points over his last four games, but it's unclear if he'll be good to go for Friday's home game versus the Coyotes.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Big game snaps long goal drought

Norris scored twice Thursday in a 4-1 win over Dallas.

Norris had just one goal in his previous 20 games. He put the Sens up 1-0 early in the first period by muscling his way to inside position on Derrick Pouliot and redirecting Drake Batherson's point shot. Norris then scored the winner five-hole early in the second after blowing past Miro Heiskanen and skating into a dish from Batherson. Norris has struggled to find his game this season after missing all but eight games in 2022-23, but Thursday, he looked every bit the 35-goal guy he was in 2021-22. Maybe it simply took him this long to get his game back. If so, Norris could be a proverbial home-run smash off the wire.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Assist in return from injury

Norris (upper body) got an assist Saturday in a 2-1 overtime loss to Winnipeg.

Norris saw 20:04 in ice time in his return after missing four contests. It was nice to see him get on the scoresheet -- it was his first point since the December break (eight games played) despite putting up 20 shots. Norris had been on a five-game goal streak (seven points) heading into that break, but it's been hard for him to find consistency this season. However, with Shane Pinto (suspension) returning Sunday, the Sens will have their top three centers on the ice for the first time in a year (Jan. 21, 2023). Norris may see greater offensive opportunity in a better-balanced lineup.

Norris had missed Ottawa's last four games with an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old center is expected to return to the Senators' third line, with Ridly Greig continuing to man the top unit. Norris has 12 goals and 20 points through 33 games this season.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Might return this weekend

Norris (upper body) might be an option to return Saturday versus Winnipeg or Sunday against Philadelphia, coach Jacques Martin told TSN 1200 Ottawa on Wednesday.

Although Norris seems to be getting close to returning, he'll still miss his fourth straight game Thursday versus Montreal. He has 12 goals and 20 points in 33 outings in 2023-24. When Norris is healthy, he might push Zack MacEwen out of the lineup.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Sidelined versus Sabres

Norris will be unavailable against Buffalo on Thursday due to an upper-body injury, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Norris is currently mired in a seven-game pointless streak despite registering 16 shots on net over that stretch. With the 24-year-old center on the shelf, Tim Stutzle will move up to the first power-play unit. In terms of the full lineup, Ottawa will either need to bring a forward up from the minors or roll with seven defensemen Thursday. Norris will be reevaluated ahead of Saturday's clash with San Jose.

  • Senators' Josh Norris: Tallies on power play

Norris scored a power-play goal on three shots, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Avalanche.

Norris has tallied in four straight games and six of his last eight. This was also his third outing in a row with a power-play marker. The 24-year-old center is up to 11 goals, 18 points (nine on the power play), 68 shots, 29 hits and a minus-4 rating through 25 outings. Fantasy managers likely hadn't given him much thought prior to December, but he should be working his way onto more rosters with his recent performance.
