Sabres' Josh Norris: Dealing with soft-tissue injury
Norris' undisclosed injury is a soft-tissue injury that the Sabres knew about before acquiring him from the Senators, Brian Koziol of WGR reports.
Norris reportedly would have been available at some point in the playoffs had the Sabres qualified. This suggests he could be officially cleared during the offseason and shouldn't be too significantly impacted in his training routine. Norris will end up having missed the last 18 games of the season, finishing with 35 points across 56 appearances between Buffalo and Ottawa. He'll be in line for top-six minutes if he's healthy to begin 2025-26.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Likely done for season
Norris (undisclosed) probably won't return before the end of the regular season, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports Saturday.
Norris will miss his 15th straight game versus Florida on Saturday. He has appeared in only three games with the Sabres since being acquired from the Senators on March 7. Norris is poised to conclude the 2024-25 campaign with 21 goals, 35 points, 96 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and 135 hits across 56 appearances between Buffalo and Ottawa. If he can stay healthy, he could occupy a top-six role for the Sabres in 2025-26.

Norris will miss his 14th straight game. The Sabres are still hopeful he can return to the lineup before the end of the season, which ends next Thursday against the Flyers. Sabres' Josh Norris: Back on ice
Norris (undisclosed) skated on his own Friday, Bill Hoppe of Buffalo Hockey Beat reports.
The Sabres remain hopeful that Norris could be back in the lineup before the end of the regular season. He has missed the last 10 outings due to a mid-body injury and has played only three games in a Buffalo uniform, scoring once and adding an assist since being acquired from Ottawa.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Still rehabbing injury
Norris (undisclosed) did not travel with the team and will not play Tuesday against the Senators, according to TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Norris will remain sidelined for a 10th consecutive game Tuesday as he works his way back to full strength. The left-shot center had cracked the scoresheet in back-to-back games prior to getting injured. Jiri Kulich and Ryan McLeod will continue to round out the center position in the top six while Norris is sidelined. Since a timeline for Norris to return to game action is not clear, fantasy managers shouldn't be counting on the 25-year-old for the fantasy playoffs.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Dealing with nagging injury
Norris (undisclosed) said he is day-to-day and plans to return before the end of the regular season, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports Tuesday.
Hamilton also relayed that Norris said his undisclosed injury is something that has been bothersome on and off all season, and it recently popped up again. The Sabres are all but mathematically eliminated from postseason contention, so Norris will more than likely be given all the time he needs to make a full recovery.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Remains out Tuesday
Norris (undisclosed) will miss Tuesday's clash against Ottawa, per Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Not playing Saturday
Norris (undisclosed) won't be an option for Saturday's matchup against Minnesota, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Norris will miss his fourth straight game, and it's unlikely he will be ready for Sunday's contest against Winnipeg because he hasn't been practicing. He has produced 21 goals and 35 points in 56 appearances this season between Buffalo and Ottawa.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Unavailable Monday
Norris (undisclosed) won't play against Boston on Monday, per Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News.
Norris didn't participate in Monday's practice and will miss his second straight game. Sabres' Josh Norris: Sitting out Saturday
Norris (undisclosed) won't play against Vegas on Saturday, per Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News.
Norris will miss at least one game after sitting out Friday's practice. He has notched one goal and one assist in three games with the Sabres since being acquired from Ottawa at the trade deadline. With Norris and JJ Peterka (lower body) unavailable, Jordan Greenway and Alex Tuch will skate alongside Tage Thompson on Buffalo's top line versus the Golden Knights.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Being evaluated by medical staff
Norris is being checked by the Sabres' medical staff for an undisclosed injury, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports, making him questionable to face Vegas on Saturday.
Norris hasn't been officially ruled out against the Golden Knights but fantasy players may want to consider benching him in their fantasy lineups just to be safe. In his three appearances for Buffalo, the 25-year-old center has garnered one goal, one assist and two hits while filling a first-line role. If Norris can't play Saturday, the team may consider moving Tage Thompson to center while shifting Alex Tuch up to the top line.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Gets goal in loss
Norris scored a goal and added 10 PIM in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Red Wings.
Norris cut the Red Wings' lead to 3-2 late in the first period with his first goal as a Sabre. He has two points over three outings with his new team after a deadline deal sent him to Buffalo from Ottawa. For the season, he's at 21 goals, 14 assists, 96 shots on net, 135 hits, 47 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 56 appearances. Norris has lined up as the first-line center, shifting Tage Thompson over to the wing again.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Nabs first helper with new team
Norris logged an assist in Monday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.
Norris needed just two games to get onto the scoresheet in his Sabres tenure. The 25-year-old center set up Tage Thompson for a third-period goal, which was the game-winner. Over 55 appearances between Buffalo and Ottawa, Norris has logged 34 points, 95 shots on net, 134 hits and a minus-5 rating. If he stays on the Sabres' top line, he'll carry a little more fantasy value than he did toward the end of his time with the Senators.

Sabres' Josh Norris: Flipped at deadline
Norris, along with Jacob Bernard-Docker, was acquired by the Sabres from the Senators on Friday in a swap for Dylan Cozens, Dennis Gilbert and a 2026 second-round pick.
Norris is a slightly risky play for the Sabres given his injury history -- he hasn't reached the 60-game mark in either of the previous two seasons -- but offers more scoring upside at this point. Through 53 games this year, the 25-year-old center has already notched 20 goals, including six with the man advantage. With Buffalo, Norris could supplant Jiri Kulich as the No. 1 center and get minutes alongside Tage Thompson at both even strength and with the man advantage.

Senators' Josh Norris: Two-point effort Wednesday
Norris produced a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over Chicago.
It's the first points in three games for Norris since he returned from an upper-body injury, and Wednesday's tally was his 20th of the season -- the second time in his career he's reached that mark. The 25-year-old center has had trouble staying in the lineup so far in 2025 -- he's missed eight of the Senators' last 14 games -- but when he's been on the ice, he's been productive. Over his last 13 appearances dating back to Jan. 11, Norris has delivered six goals and 11 points with 33 hits and a plus-6 rating.

Senators' Josh Norris: Returns after yet another injury
Norris had three hits and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over San Jose.
He returned to the lineup after missing six games because of an upper-body injury. Norris has talent, but his injury history is stunning. Last season, he had a third surgery on his left shoulder and missed almost the entirety of the 2022-23 campaign. Before that, Norris delivered a tantalizing 35 goals in 66 games in 2021-22, and fantasy managers started lining up for his services. At this point, you need to temper any expectations you have for him. Norris has 19 goals in 51 games this season, and if he can regain his form, he could pot another eight or nine. But that means he'd need to stay healthy, and that's always a risk.

Senators' Josh Norris: Returning Saturday
Norris (upper body) will play Saturday against San Jose, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.
Norris will rejoin the Senators after missing the last six games with an injury. The 25-year-old center, who should return to a top-six role, has 19 goals and 31 points in 50 games this season.

Senators' Josh Norris: Unavailable versus Jets
Norris (upper body) will not be an option against Winnipeg on Wednesday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
In addition to Norris, the Senators will be without Brady Tkachuk (lower body) and Shane Pinto (upper body), forcing them to utilize seven defensemen versus the Jets. It will be the sixth straight game on the shelf for the 25-year-old Norris, though that hasn't stopped him from reaching the 30-point threshold for the fourth time in his five-year NHL career. WIth just one more tally, Norris will have scored 20 goals this year, a mark he is more than capable of reaching when he can stay healthy.

Senators' Josh Norris: Practices Tuesday
Norris (upper body) participated in Tuesday's practice and might return to the lineup versus Winnipeg on Wednesday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Ottawa will evaluate Norris further Wednesday morning before determining his availability. Still, he appears close to being an option after missing the last five games. Norris has produced 19 goals, 31 points, 92 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and 126 hits in 50 appearances this season. Once healthy, he will occupy a top-six role and see time on the power play.
