  • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Sent to AHL

Solovyov was assigned to AHL Calgary on Sunday.

Solovyov has earned two assists, five shots on goal, four PIM, nine blocked shots and six hits in six outings with the Flames this season. • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Registers shorthanded assist

Solovyov notched a shorthanded assist and blocked four shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Devils.

Solovyov had the secondary helper on a Yegor Sharangovich tally late in the first period. This was Solovyov's second assist in three games since he rejoined the NHL roster in late November. The 23-year-old blueliner has added four shots on goal, five hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through five appearances in a sheltered third-pairing role.

  • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Snags first helper

Solovyov posted an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.

Solovyov had some forgettable moments in the contest, but he also picked up his first NHL point by setting up Connor Zary's third-period tally. This was Solovyov's third contest of the season. He has a chance to play on the third pairing with Nikita Zadorov traded to Vancouver, though Solovyov may have to battle with Dennis Gilbert and Jordan Oesterle to stay in the lineup.

  • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Back in NHL

Solovyov was recalled from AHL Calgary on Friday, Aaron Vickers of NHL.com reports.

Solovyov was needed after the trade of Nikita Zadorov to Vancouver on Thursday. Solovyov played two games with the Flames earlier in the season, failing to pick up a point. The defenseman had two goals and five points in 16 AHL games before his recall. Look for Solovyov to see plenty of action as general manager Craig Conroy wants to give the blueliner a real opportunity to solidify a job at the NHL level.

  • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Dropped to AHL

Solovyov was assigned to AHL Calgary on Monday.

Solovyov's spot on the roster will be occupied by Rasmus Andersson, who has finished serving his four-game suspension for charging Columbus' Patrik Laine (upper body) on Oct. 20. The 23-year-old Solovyov has one shot on goal, one blocked shot, two hits and a minus-3 rating in two appearances with the Flames this season. He also has one goal and one assist in four AHL contests this campaign.

  • Flames' Ilya Solovyov: Promoted by Flames

Solovyov was called up by the Flames on Thursday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Solovyov has a goal and an assist in four contests with AHL Calgary in 2023-24. The 23-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut yet, but with Rasmus Andersson set to miss Calgary's next two contests while serving a suspension, perhaps Solovyov will play for the Flames on Thursday versus St. Louis or Sunday against Edmonton.
