Stephenson helped out on Oliver Bjorkstrand's tally in the first period. The 30-year-old Stephenson has gotten on the scoresheet in three of his last seven outings, accumulating a goal and six helpers (three on the power play) in that span. For the season, the center is up to 17 points (nine on the power play), 24 shots on net and a minus-8 rating over 26 appearances. Stephenson's extreme pass-first tendencies hurt his fantasy value a bit, but he could have a career year with the man advantage anyway.

Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Moves past illness
Stephenson will return to the lineup on the road Tuesday against the Hurricanes, according to Julian Gaudio of The Hockey News.

Stephenson had three points in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Sharks, but he's apparently ended up under the weather before the rematch. The 30-year-old center will be replaced in the lineup by Mitchell Stephens, while Shane Wright could see a larger role. Stephenson's next chance to play is Tuesday against the Hurricanes.

Stephenson had a goal and two assists in an 8-5 loss to the Sharks on Saturday.
Stephenson hasn't performed like the Kraken thought he would when they inked his 7-year, $43,750,000 contract this offseason. But with the three points Friday, he has 16 points, including 14 assists, in 24 games. That's reasonable production until you look under the hood and discover that all of those points came in eight games, including three contests that account for 10 of those points. Why does this matter? Stephenson isn't fantasy worthy without some significant consistency -- not at center at least.

Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Signs long-term deal
Stephenson secured a seven-year, $43.75 million contract with Seattle on Monday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Stephenson is coming off a relatively disappointing year, as he missed out on a third straight 60-point campaign. The 30-year-old center managed to rack up 16 goals and 35 assists, including 13 power-play points, in 75 regular-season contests for the Golden Knights. The Kraken have plenty of center depth in the top six with Matty Beniers and Jared McCann, not to mention youngster Shane Wright, so Stephenson or someone else will have move to the wing. That shouldn't prevent him from pushing for 20 goals and 60 points this season while playing in a top-six role in 2024-25.
