Jets' Josh Morrissey: Good to go
Morrissey (lower body) is back to full health after being injured during Winnipeg's first-round playoff series against Vegas, Aaron Vickers of NHL.com reports.
Morrissey sat out the final two contests of the series after suffering a lower-body injury in the first period of a 5-4 double-overtime loss to the Golden Knights in Game 3. He told NHL.com on Saturday that he is "100 percent ready to go" and there are "no lingering issues at all." Morrissey broke out offensively last season with 16 goals and 76 points in 78 games. He should have another productive year in 2023-24 despite Winnipeg's roster undergoing plenty of changes during the offseason.

Jets' Josh Morrissey: Done for first-round series
Morrissey (lower body) will not return before the end of Winnipeg's first-round series against Vegas, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.
Morrissey logged just 1:14 of ice time Saturday before exiting the contest. He was a huge part of Winnipeg's defense during the regular season, providing 16 goals, 76 points, 89 hits and 119 blocks in 78 outings while averaging 24:14. Dylan Samberg, who averaged 14:11 over the first two playoff contests this year, might be asked to do more in Morrissey's absence.

Morrissey left the game after seeing just 1:14 of action. The star defenseman had an assist in his first two games of the playoffs after an outstanding regular season in which he had 16 goals and 76 points in 78 games. Consider him day-to-day at this time, as his status for Game 4 on Monday is up in the air.

Morrissey helped out on Kyle Connor's opening tally in the second period. The 28-year-old had seven points over his last five regular-season contests, and Morrissey's not cooling off to enter the postseason. He more than doubled his career-best in points with 76 in 78 appearances during 2022-23, so he'll continue to be an important part of the Jets' offense and defense.

Morrissey is slated to open the postseason on the top defense pairing and the first power-play combination.
