Skjei scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets. Skjei's tally with 3:09 left in the third period tied the game at 2-2. The 29-year-old defenseman has somewhat quietly maintained a solid level of performance with two goals and five assists over his last nine outings. Overall, Skjei has 14 points, 38 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 20 contests in a top-four role.... See More ... See Less

Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Two-point effort Tuesday
Skjei scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres. The blueliner gave Carolina a 2-1 lead in the third period. Then after Buffalo had tied it back up, Skjei helped set up Martin Necas for the game-winner. Skjei is off to a flying start to the season despite a lack of power-play time -- through 13 games he's piled up two goals and 10 points along with a plus-7 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Dishes OT helper Saturday
Skjei assisted on the game-winning goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win against the Islanders. Skjei has cooled off considerably since his red-hot start back in October when he recorded six points in his first five games (1G, 5A), but his latest helper gives him a respectable eight points in 12 games. He continues to skate mainly on the Canes' second defensive pairing, averaging a healthy 20:57 in ice time per game. This role gives him decent fantasy value in most standard formats.... See More ... Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Keeps rolling in win
Skjei notched two assists, four shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Sharks. Skjei has been fantastic to start the season, racking up a goal and five helpers over four games. He helped out on tallies by Stefan Noesen and Martin Necas during the Hurricanes' third-period rally in this contest. Skjei has also provided eight blocked shots, nine shots on net and a plus-6 rating this season while remaining a fixture on the second pairing.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Hands out helper in loss
Skjei notched an assist in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Ducks. Skjei also finished with a plus-1 rating -- only he and defense partner Brett Pesce posted positive marks in the loss. With a goal and three helpers through three games, Skjei is making sure he isn't a forgotten man on the Hurricanes' deep blue line. He's added six blocked shots, five shots on net and a plus-4 rating, providing well-rounded production, though maintaining his hot start on offense won't be easy.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Pockets assist in win
Skjei notched a shorthanded assist and four blocked shots in Saturday's 6-5 shootout win over the Kings. Skjei helped out on Teuvo Teravainen's goal in the second period. With three points over two games to begin the season, Skjei is still finding chances to help the offense while holding down a top-four role on the Hurricanes' competitive blue line. In addition to his offense, he's produced five blocked shots, four shots on net and a plus-3 rating.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Two points in opener
Skjei tallied a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Ottawa. Skjei picked up an assist on Teuvo Teravainen's goal in the second period before scoring in the third, beating Joonas Korpisalo with a slapshot for the eventual game-winning score. The 29-year-old Skjei scored a career-high 18 goals with 20 assists in 81 games last season. While his offensive ceiling may be limited, Skjei should offer modest production on Carolina's second pairing.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Collects two assists in Game 4
Skjei notched two assists in a 4-3 loss to Florida in Game 4 on Wednesday. Skjei was held off the scoresheet in his previous seven outings. Carolina has been eliminated from the playoffs, and Skjei didn't do much offensively with a goal and four points in 15 postseason appearances this year. The defenseman was a solid contributor in the regular season, recording 18 goals and 38 points in 81 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Scores goal and assist in victory
Skjei scored a goal and an assist on three shots, fueling the Hurricanes to a 3-2 overtime win over the Senators on Tuesday. Skjei scored a power-play goal on a wrist shot that beat Leevi Merilainen to give the Hurricanes a 2-0 lead. The American defenseman also picked up an assist on Jesperi Kotkaniemi's goal earlier in the first period. This performance gives him points in two of his last three games with three points in that span. On the season, Skjei has 17 goals and 34 points in 75 games.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Closing in on career numbers
Skjei scored a goal on a pair of shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Canadiens. Skjei is currently on a late-season scoring run with seven points in his last 10 games (5G, 2A), giving him 34 points on the season. With a strong push down the stretch, he could even match the career-high 39 points he posted last season and in 2016-17. He remains a decent blue line option for your fantasy squad.... See More ... Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Two points against Jets
Skjei scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Winnipeg. Both points came in the second period as Carolina built a 3-1 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Skjei hadn't had a multi-point performance since Jan. 19, and the trade deadline addition of Shayne Gostisbehere has shut him out of regular power-play duty limiting his fantasy upside. On the season, Skjei has a career-high 13 goals and 29 points in 65 games, but he's unlikely to reach his career high of 39 points.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Adds helper in rout
Skjei supplied an assist in Friday's 6-1 win over the Coyotes. Skjei continues to be a sneaky offensive producer, as he's banked a career-high 11 goals to complement 15 assists through 59 games, serving as a fine complement to his plus-14 rating. He's also starting to contribute more regularly on the power play, with six points on the man advantage. Prior to this season, you'd have to rewind to Skjei's 2017-18 campaign with the Rangers to see the last time he finished with any points on the man advantage.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Scores goal vs. Ottawa
Skjei recorded a goal in the Hurricanes' 4-0 win over Ottawa on Friday. Skjei's marker came at 16:30 of the third period to extend Carolina's edge to 4-0. He has 11 goals and 25 points in 56 games in 2022-23. Skjei registered just two assists over his previous 11 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Big night on power play
Skjei scored a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Wild. He floated a shot from the point midway through the second period that sailed through traffic and eluded Marc-Andre Fleury before helping to set up a Martin Necas tally early in the third that proved to be Carolina's final goal of the night. Skjei has set a new career high with 10 goals on the season in only 44 games, topping the nine he scored in 2021-22, but the 28-year-old blueliner's 22 points doesn't have him far ahead of his usual pace.... Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Contributes goal vs. Pittsburgh
Skjei recorded a goal in Saturday's 2-1 win against Pittsburgh. Skjei opened the scoring at 17:02 of the first period. The 28-year-old is on a roll, providing at least a point in four of his last five contests. The hot streak has pushed him up to nine goals and 20 points in 42 games in 2022-23.... See More ... Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Scores goal in loss to Nashville
Skjei found the back of the net in a 5-3 loss to Nashville on Thursday. Skjei scored at 0:35 of the second period to give Carolina a 2-1 edge. It was his seventh marker and 16th point in 38 games in 2022-23. Skjei had been limited to an assist in his previous six outings.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Expected to play Friday
Skjei (personal) is expected to suit up Friday against the Flyers, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Skjei is set to return after a one-game absence. The 28-year-old blueliner has six goals and 14 points with a plus-11 rating through 32 games this season. He'll skate in a top-four role alongside Brett Pesce.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Stays hot Sunday
Skjei provided a goal and an assist in the Hurricanes' 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday. Skjei found the back of the net at 8:17 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2. He then assisted on the game-winning marker at 13:33 of the same frame. The 28-year-old has six goals and 14 points in 31 contests this season. Skjei's been red hot lately, providing four goals and seven points in his last seven games.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Nets first PP tally
Skjei scored a rare goal during Tuesday's 1-0 victory over the host Red Wings. Converting a one-timer off a no-look backhand feed from Seth Jarvis, Skjei collected his first power-play goal in 476 NHL games. "That's good to know," Skjei said, reported by NHL.com. "Obviously, it was a great play by (Jarvis), and I was just lucky enough to be in the right spot to put it in." Skjei, who contributed three shots and two blocks against the Red Wings, has scored three goals in his past four appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Brady Skjei: Scores for second straight game
Skjei scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks. Skjei tallied in the first period for his second goal in as many games. Prior to this burst of offense, he'd gone 10 contests without a point. The 28-year-old isn't necessarily a goal-scoring dynamo, but he can be more consistent than he was in November. For the season, the defenseman has four tallies, five assists, 57 shots on net, 30 hits, 19 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 26 outings.... See More ... See Less
