Kreider capped the scoring in New York's blowout victory, cleaning up a rebound to extend the lead to 7-0 midway through the second period. Rangers' Chris Kreider: Tallies goal vs. Penguins
Kreider netted a goal in a 6-0 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday. Kreider has provided four goals over his last four games, bringing him up to 31 markers and 48 points in 66 contests this season. His goal-scoring pace is still well behind 2021-22 when he finished with a career high of 52, but this is still the second most he's contributed in a single campaign. The main reason for the drop off is because he's less success on the power play. Kreider's tallied just six goals with the man advantage in 2022-23 compared with 26 last season.... See More ... Rangers' Chris Kreider: Two goals including GWG
Kreider scored two goals including the game-winner in Thursday's 4-2 victory over the Penguins. Both tallies came in the third period, as Kreider broke a 2-2 tie with a little over eight minutes left before icing the game with an empty-netter. The 31-year-old has found the back of the net six times in the last 10 games to get him to 30 on the season, and Kreider sits three points short of his fourth career 50-point campaign.... Rangers' Chris Kreider: Earns point Sunday with late goal
Kreider scored his 28th goal of the season in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Penguins. The veteran winger capped a three-on-two rush midway through the third period to tie the game at 2-2 and salvage a point in the standings for the Rangers. Kreider predictably hasn't been able to repeat his massive 52-goal campaign from a season ago, but he's still been productive for New York as he closes in on the 30-goal mark for the second time in his career. In 17 games since the All-Star break, the 31-year-old has racked up eight goals and 14 points.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Two points in loss to Caps
Kreider scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Capitals. Both points came in the third period after the Rangers had already dug themselves a 5-1 hole. Kreider snapped a brief three-game point drought with the performance, and on the season he's up to 25 goals and 41 points through 56 games, the fourth time in his career he's reached the 25-goal plateau.... Rangers' Chris Kreider: Does damage on special teams
Kreider scored two goals -- one on the power play, the other shorthanded -- in Friday's 5-4 shootout win over the Oilers. Kreider showed off his skills in both special-teams situations. The 31-year-old winger has been excellent lately with five goals and four helpers during a seven-game point streak. He's up to 24 tallies, including three shorthanded and five on the power play this season. He's recorded 39 points, 166 shots, 83 hits and a plus-16 rating through 52 contests overall.... Rangers' Chris Kreider: Set to face Bruins
Kreider (upper body) is slated to play Thursday versus Boston. Kreider missed the Rangers' previous three games because of the injury. He has 19 goals and 30 points in 42 contests in 2022-23. Kreider's return might result in Sammy Blais, who has played in the Rangers' last three games, serving as a healthy scratch.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Won't return Monday
Kreider (upper body) isn't expected to play Monday versus Columbus, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post. Kreider missed the Rangers' last two contests. He has 19 goals and 30 points in 42 games this season. Kreider is "real close" to returning, Rangers coach Gerard Gallant told Mollie Walker of the New York Post, so maybe Kreider will return Thursday against Boston.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Out Sunday
Kreider (upper body) will not play Sunday against Montreal, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports. As expected, Kreider will miss a second straight game while nursing an upper-body injury. The veteran winger is skating on his own but will likely need to get into a practice session before returning to action. The Rangers play in Columbus on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Doubtful Sunday
Kreider (upper body) is doubtful for Sunday's tilt versus Montreal, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports. Kreider skated on his own Saturday but wasn't available for practice. The winger sat out his first game of the season Thursday with the injury. Kreider has 19 goals and 30 points in 42 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Officially ruled out Thursday
Kreider (upper body) will not play against the Stars on Thursday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports. Kreider will be on the shelf for the first time this season after having appeared in all 42 contests to open the year. In those outings, the 31-year-old winger has racked up 19 goals and 11 helpers. While it seems unlikely the Massachusetts native will reach the 50-goal threshold as he did last season, he should still be capable of notching 40 goals, barring an extended stint on the shelf.... Rangers' Chris Kreider: Sustains upper-body injury
Kreider (upper body) will be evaluated further Wednesday after leaving Tuesday's game versus the Wild, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports. Kreider appeared to injure his arm in the third period of the contest, though head coach Gerard Gallant didn't elaborate on the winger's status. With Julien Gauthier (upper body) also exiting the contest, the Rangers may need to call up a forward if both of their injured players can't dress for Thursday's game versus the Stars. Prior to a scoreless outing Tuesday, Kreider had scored three times in the four previous games.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Scores in back-to-back games
Kreider scored a goal on one shot in the Rangers' 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils on Saturday. Kreider extended the Rangers' lead to 3-1 with a rebound out in front of Vitek Vanecek. This goal gives Kreider goals in back-to-back games and three goals in the last four games. On the season, Kreider has 19 goals and 30 points in 41 games.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Nets nice shortie in win
Kreider scored a shorthanded goal Thursday in a 4-1 win over Montreal. He stepped into a Juraj Slafkovsky pass that was intended for Arber Xhekaj at the Rangers blue line and wired it past Jake Allen at 7:43 in the second. Kreider hasn't caught the same goal magic that he delivered last year, but he does have 18 (29 points) in 40 games. That's still good enough to put him into the NHL's top-30 scorers.... See More ... Rangers' Chris Kreider: Scores twice in loss
Kreider scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Penguins. Kreider opened the scoring just 22 seconds into the game when his attempted pass deflected off a Pittsburgh defender and past Tristan Jarry. He'd add a second goal in the third period, burying a feed from Vincent Trocheck on an odd-man rush. The two-goal performance snapped a three-game scoreless skid for Kreider who came into the night with just one point in his last six contests. The 31-year-old winger now has 16 goals and 10 assists in 34 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Chris Kreider: Adds 14th goal of 2022-23
Kreider scored a goal in the Rangers' 4-3 overtime win against New Jersey on Monday. Kreider scored at 18:25 of the first period to cut the Devils' early lead down to 2-1. It was his 14th goal and 24th point in 30 games in 2022-23. Rangers' Chris Kreider: Nets goal vs. Senators
Kreider scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-1 win against Ottawa. Kreider has recorded at least a point in three straight games and four of his last five contests. That gives him 11 goals and 21 points in 24 games this season. Even after his goal Wednesday, Kreider is shooting 13.8 percent, which is well below his 18.6 from 2019-20 through 2021-22. It's entirely feasible for the 31-year-old to increase his goal scoring pace as the campaign progresses.... See More ... See Less
