Joel Hofer will get the nod for Wednesday's home game against the Stars, with Binnington getting the start on the road in the second half of back-to-back contests versus Dallas on Thursday. Binnington wasn't great in his last appearance Saturday against the Wild, surrendering four goals on 29 shots en route to a 5-3 defeat. He'll attempt to end the season on a high note by shooting for a win in a road matchup with a Stars squad that's 21-10-9 at home this year.

Since he didn't get ejected the game for trying to start a fight, this is a mild improvement over Binnington's last meeting with the Wild. It's still the worst effort of his last five outings, a span in which he's gone 3-1-1 with 14 goals allowed. With a soft matchup versus the lowly Ducks on Saturday, this was a safe landing spot for Binnington, who avoided any extra theatrics despite a just-okay performance. It's possible Binnington's antics have cost him the starting role for the Blues -- he may be limited to splitting time with Hofer for the rest of the season.

Per Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Binnington was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate, putting him on track to patrol the road crease versus the Ducks on Saturday.
Binnington struggled in his last appearance March 15 against the Wild, surrendering five goals on just 24 shots before receiving a match penalty and being ejected from the eventual 8-5 loss. The 29-year-old netminder was given a two-game suspension for his actions in that contest. He'll try to return to the win column in a favorable road matchup with a struggling Anaheim team that's lost five of its last six games.
