Jaguars' Chandler Brewer: Signs onto active roster
Jacksonville signed Brewer from its practice squad to its active roster Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
In a corresponding move, it placed left tackle Cam Robinson (knee) on its injured reserve list. Brewer played in six games with the Rams in 2022, but he's likely to serve in a backup capacity for the Jaguars for now.

Brewer appears to be healthy after leaving the Jaguars' second preseason game early with a shoulder injury. The 2019 UDFA wasn't let go with an injury designation, so he'll head to free agency if he clears waivers.

Brewer signed a contract with the Jaguars on Wednesday, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
Brewer will join the Jaguars after spending the 2022 campaign with the Rams and making four starts. The 2019 undrafted free agent can line up at either tackle or guard, providing the Jaguars with depth at either spot.

Brewer suffered an MCL sprain Week 10 against the Cardinals and has been out of action since. He was designated to return Dec. 22 but didn't play Week 16 versus Denver. However, Brewer now appears ready to suit up Sunday against the Chargers.

After missing the team's last five games recovering from an MCL sprain, Brewer appears poised to be activated from the injured reserve list within the next couple of weeks. With a ton of injuries plaguing the Rams' offensive line, Brewer may be asked to step into a starting role as soon as he's ready to play again.

Brewer is out four to six weeks with an MCL injury that will require surgery, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Brewer suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals and had started the team's last two games at right guard. The loss of the 25-year-old is another blow to the Rams offensive line, which has been ravaged by injuries all season. Oday Aboushi will likely be the next man up at right guard for the Rams on Sunday against the Saints.

Brewer has "higher risk" next to his name on the reserve/Opt-Out list due to his history with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Active from Weeks 11-17 last season, the special-teamer and occasional O-lineman is looking "forward to getting back on the field in 2021 and beyond."
