Chiefs' Noah Gray: One catch in regular-season finale
Gray gathered in their only target for 14 yards during the Week 18 win against the Raiders.
Gray tallied just one catch in each of the final three games of the regular season and no more than three in any single game while reaching pay dirt just once through the air and once on the ground. Gray at least finished 2022 with an offensive snap count percentage (52.7) north of 50 for the first time in his young career and may be aligned as the top in-house option to take over at tight end once Travis Kelce retires. Until then, and assuming the team doesn't upgrade the tight end depth by other means, Gray is largely irrelevant from a fantasy perspective aside from some deep dynasty formats.

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Grabs another three passes
Gray reeled in all three targets for 31 yards during Sunday's 30-24 overtime win versus Houston.
Gray has accumulated three grabs in each of the last two weeks, a number he has reached four times but hasn't bested so far this year. Gray also has just two touchdowns -- one receiving and one rushing -- on the season, so he's not particularly relevant in most formats. However, he may still be worthy as a bench stash in some dynasty leagues just in case he takes over as the starting tight end in Kansas City once Travis Kelce retires.

Gray reeled in all three targets for 45 yards during Sunday's 34-28 win against the Broncos.
Gray has played a fair amount over the last four weeks, logging snap shares near or above 60 percent. He matched a season-high total for both yards and receptions Sunday, which speaks to where he is currently as a fantasy tight end. Gray doesn't fit on many rosters at this point but could be worth a stash in some dynasty formats as the potential heir at the tight end position in Kansas City once Travis Kelce hangs up the cleats.

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Adds two more catches to ledger
Gray was on the field for 49 of the Chiefs' 76 snaps on offense and caught two passes for 16 yards on two targets in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Rams.
Even though he's the Chiefs' No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce, Gray has arguably out-produced multiple low-end starters around the NFL while he continues to share the field frequently with the seven-time Pro Bowler. Gray has played at least 43 percent of the Chiefs' offensive snaps in each of the team's first 11 games and has drawn at least one target on each occasion, producing an 18-174-1 receiving line in the process. He's also added a one-yard rushing touchdown to his ledger. Should Kelce miss time at any point over the Chiefs' remaining six regular-season contests, Gray could represent an intriguing option in fantasy lineups.

Gray recorded two receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Jaguars.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes found both of his top two tight ends for scores in the Week 10 victory, as Travis Kelce also cashed in with a seven-yard touchdown grab late in the third quarter. Kelce remains locked in as the Chiefs' top pass catcher and arguably the best fantasy tight end, but Gray often shares the field with him and has held a consistent, albeit low-upside role within the Kansas City offense. In the Chiefs' nine games, Gray's offensive snap share has ranged between 41 and 57 percent, and he's drawn between one and three targets in each of those contests.

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Credited with first rushing TD
Gray carried once for a one-yard touchdown in Sunday's 41-31 win over the Buccaneers.
Though the tight end couldn't corral his lone target on the night, he found paydirt for the first time this season when he motioned in front of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and plunged across the goal line on a direct snap. All three of the Chiefs' tight ends finished the game with six points, as Travis Kelce and Jody Fortson both recorded receiving touchdowns. Moving forward, Gray and Fortson will likely continue to function mostly as blockers whenever they're on the field.

Gray recorded a 26-yard reception on two targets while playing 25 of the Chiefs' 59 offensive snaps in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Colts.
Gray's 26-yard catch and run with less than a minute left in the third quarter marked the longest reception through his first two seasons in the NFL. With snap shares ranging between 42 and 55 percent in each of the three games the Chiefs have played this season, Gray has carved out a larger role than anticipated behind top tight end Travis Kelce. Head coach Andy Reid hasn't been shy about having Gray and Kelce share the field together, but Gray typically functions as a blocker in those scenarios.

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Records 10-yard catch
Gray snagged a 10-yard reception across two targets in Sunday's 44-21 win over the Cardinals.
Starting tight end Travis Kelce had a huge outing in Week 1 (eight receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown on nine targets), but the Chiefs were still able to find playing time for depth options in Gray (36 snaps) and Fortson (22 snaps). Gray and Fortson are still likely to operate mostly as blockers when they're on the field, limiting the upside of both players so long as Kelce and the team's other key pass catchers are available.

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Reprises backup role
Following the recent NFL Draft, Gray remains in the mix to back up Travis Kelce along with Blake Bell and Jody Fortson (Achilles), Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Of course, as long as Kelce, who logged 159 targets last season, remains available, there's not going to be much volume for Kansas City's reserve tight ends. In 2021, Gray caught seven of his 10 targets for 36 yards and a TD in 16 games. Meanwhile, Bell logged 13 targets in 16 contests and Fortson five in six outings. In the event that Kelce misses time for any reason in 2022, it's unclear who would fill in as the team's starting TE, with a time-share approach in which Gray -- a 2021 fifth-rounder -- would likely be a factor.

Gray finished out his rookie season with the Chiefs having amassed seven catches for 36 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. While it's nothing to write home about, the 2021 fifth-round pick did grade out pretty well as a blocker overall and stands a good chance of moving up a spot on the depth chart in 2022. Blake Bell's one-year deal expires following the season, and Gray seems to have performed well enough to potentially move into the top backup role next year. That could entail some additional snaps and perhaps some added looks in the passing game, though Travis Kelce is still the clear No. 1 tight end in the offense. The Chiefs may also elect to groom Gray as the heir to Kelce if they like what they've seen from him.

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Playing time returns to normal
Gray caught his only target for six yards during Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Gray has tallied a total of three receptions for 18 yards over the past two games after failing to record a reception in the three prior contests. That being said, Gray saw just 17 percent of the offensive snaps in the contest, his lowest since Week 9 against the Packers after he played a season-high 72 percent last week with Travis Kelce sidelined. As long as Kelce and Blake Bell are healthy, it's unlikely Gray will see a ton more playing time than what he's currently receiving.
