Rams' Austin Trammell: Sees big usage in win
Trammell caught three of six targets for 23 yards during Sunday's 17-16 victory against the Seahawks. He also returned four punts for 30 yards.
Despite being primarily used as a special-teams player by the Rams through most of the season, Trammell saw a significant amount of action Sunday when Cooper Kupp (ankle) went down with an injury. Trammell's 46 snaps from scrimmage more than tripled the amount of snaps he had taken on offense all season (13), and was more than his fellow backups Ben Skowronek (nine) and Demarcus Robinson (seven) had combined. Trammell's six targets were also just one less than Puka Nacua and Darrell Henderson, and an expanded role may be available for the versatile wideout if Kupp were to miss any additional time.... Rams' Austin Trammell: Gets in full practice Thursday
Trammell (hip) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Trammell sustained a hip injury on a punt return in Week 8 against the Cowboys. He was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but his full participation Thursday indicates that he's trending towards being available for Week 9 against the Packers.... See More ... See Less
Rams' Austin Trammell: Sustains hip injury in loss
Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that Trammell sustained a hip injury on a punt return in Sunday's 43-20 loss to the Cowboys, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Though it's unclear which punt play Trammell hurt his hip on, McVay noted that the wide receiver "should be okay." Trammell was signed to the Rams' active roster Oct. 7 after being elevated from their practice squad for three straight weeks and has operated mostly as a punt return specialist. His one punt return Sunday was for a five-yard loss.... See More ... See Less
Rams' Austin Trammell: Signed to active roster
The Rams signed Trammell to their active roster Saturday.
Trammell had been elevated from the practice squad each of the previous three weeks, so Los Angeles was required to sign him to the active roster in order to have him for gameday again. The third-year wideout has worked almost exclusively on special teams this year, logging just one offensive snap in Week 2 versus San Francisco. Trammell also saw some punt return work in Week 4, and he could be used in that role more often moving forward.... See More ... See Less
Austin Trammell: Returns to practice squad
Trammell reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday.
Trammell played nine snaps on special teams and returned four punts for 15 yards in Sunday's overtime win against the Colts. Given this was the third time he was called up, the Rams will have to sign Trammell to their active roster if they wish to utilize him again this season.... See More ... See Less
Rams' Austin Trammell: Promoted to active roster
The Rams elevated Trammell to their active roster Saturday.
Trammell has played 11 special teams snaps in two contests this season. Rams' Austin Trammell: Joins active roster
Trammell has been elevated to the Rams' active roster ahead of Monday's game against the Bengals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Trammell was also bumped up from the practice squad in Week 2, so this most likely has little to nothing to do with Puka Nacua (oblique) being questionable for the contest. The former only saw one snap on offense during the Rams' loss to the 49ers, but he did carry out kick-return duties and may do so again in Monday's matchup with the Bengals.... See More ... See Less
Austin Trammell: Returns to practice squad
Trammell reverted to Rams' practice squad Monday.
Trammell was elevated ahead of Los Angeles' 30-23 loss to the 49ers, logging six snaps on special teams, including a 20-yard kick return. The wide receiver only garnered one offensive snap and will now have to wait for another chance to crack the active roster down the road.... See More ... See Less
Rams' Austin Trammell: Bumped up to active roster
Trammell has been elevated to the Rams' active roster ahead of Sunday's contest against the 49ers, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
With rookie Puka Nacua (oblique) listed as questionable, Trammell has likely been called up as receiving insurance. Either way, he will presumably play just a depth role while being more likely to have an impact on special teams.... See More ... See Less
Austin Trammell: Earns chance on practice squad
Trammell was signed to the Rams' practice squad, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Trammell will join the practice squad in Los Angeles after failing to make the team's 53-man roster. The wideout appeared in six games for the Rams last season, totaling just 13 yards on two receptions. Trammell will practice with the team and provide depth to the Rams' wide receiver corps if the team needs him at any point throughout the season.... See More ... See Less
Austin Trammell: Cut Tuesday
The Rams waived Trammell on Tuesday.
Trammell took advantage of numerous injuries and appeared in six games for the Rams last year, securing two of four targets for 13 yards. If he clears waivers, the 25-year-old wideout would presumably be a practice-squad candidate.... See More ... See Less
Rams' Austin Trammell: Slight uptick in playing time
Trammell caught one of two targets for five yards during Thursday's 17-16 victory against the Raiders.
Trammell's second straight game on the Rams' active roster saw his snap count tick up to 12, a three-snap increase over his Week 13 count against the Seahawks. It was another mild performance from the 24-year-old, who currently sits along with Brandon Powell, Lance McCutcheon and Jacob Harris (shoulder) as depth pieces for the Rams behind Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell and Van Jefferson.... Rams' Austin Trammell: Makes first NFL catch
Trammell caught one of two passes for eight yards during Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Seahawks.
Trammell had yet to take a snap for the Rams this season prior to Sunday's contest, and he was able to take advantage of his 10 snaps on offense by snagging a pass on Los Angeles' opening drive for his first NFL catch of his career. With the team's wide receiver room decimated by injury -- Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Allen Robinson (foot) are on injured reserve and Lance McCutcheon (shoulder) was sidelined Week 13 -- Trammell may have more opportunities to see the field, especially with a short week before the Raiders come to town in Week 14 for Thursday Night Football.... Rams' Austin Trammell: Earns promotion to active roster
The Rams signed Trammell from their practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus Seattle.

Austin Trammell: Makes practice squad
The Rams signed Trammell to the practice squad Wednesday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.
Trammell showcased versatility as a receiver and return man during the preseason, so it's not much of a surprise to see him pop back up on the practice squad. He logged two appearances with the Falcons last year but only handled seven special-teams snaps.... See More ... See Less
Rams' Austin Trammell: Four catches Friday
Trammell secured four of five targets for 46 yards during Friday's 24-20 preseason loss to the Texans, and he returned two punts for seven yards.
Trammell spent the second straight game as second fiddle to breakout wide receiver Lance McCutcheon, but he produced consistent yardage for both John Wolford and Bryce Perkins in a complimentary role and was more effective than fellow receivers Jacob Harris and Landen Akers, who combined for 45 yards and five catches on 10 targets. While Trammell has put together two respectable performances so far in the preseason, he'll likely have to have a monster performance of his own against the Bengals in the final preseason game to leap over McCutcheon in the conversation for a roster spot.... Rams' Austin Trammell: Three catches in win
Trammell caught three of four targets for 27 yards during Saturday's 29-22 win over the Chargers.
Trammell, who spent most of his rookie year in 2021 on Atlanta's practice squad, managed to make a modest impact with his three catches but was outshined by undrafted free agent Lance McCutcheon's breakout two-touchdown performance. No other wide receiver recorded a reception, however, giving Trammell some positive momentum over fellow roster bubble wideouts Warren Jackson, Landen Akers and J.J. Koski moving into Friday's second preseason game against the Texans.... See More ... See Less
