Chargers' Dez Fitzpatrick: Remaining with LAC
Fitzpatrick signed a reserve/future contract with the Chargers on Monday.
Fitzpatrick spent most of the 2024 regular season on the Chargers' practice squad after being cut by the Steelers after training camp at the end of August. He was elevated for Week 18 against the Raiders due to Joshua Palmer (foot) being injured, but Fitzpatrick did not draw a target over 10 offensive snaps. Fitzpatrick will remain with the Chargers during the offseason and will look to impress the coaching staff ahead of the start of training camp in July.

Dez Fitzpatrick: Heads back to practice squad
The Chargers reverted Fitzpatrick to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
With Joshua Palmer ruled out due to a foot injury in Week 18 against the Raiders, Fitzpatrick was elevated from the practice squad for his first game action of the campaign. In the contest, the 2021 fourth-round draft pick played 10 offensive snaps -- fifth-most among wideouts on the team -- and didn't get any targets. If Palmer is unable to return to action for the Chargers' wild-card round matchup versus Houston on Saturday, Fitzpatrick would be a candidate for another elevation.

Chargers' Dez Fitzpatrick: Gets first elevation of campaign
The Chargers elevated Fitzpatrick from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Fitzpatrick has spent most of the campaign on Los Angeles' practice squad and last played in an NFL game last year, when he logged three special teams snaps and zero offensive snaps in one game with the Steelers. The Louisville product hasn't produced a regular-season NFL catch since his rookie 2021 campaign with Tennessee. Fitzpatrick's elevation for Week 18 comes as a result of Joshua Palmer being ruled out due to a foot injury.

Dez Fitzpatrick: Re-signs to practice squad
Fitzpatrick signed to the Chargers' practice squad Tuesday.
The wide receiver was cut from the Bolts' practice squad Dec. 5 to make room for Laviska Shenault. Fitzpatrick was brought back Tuesday when the team also released tackle Alex Leatherwood. Fitzpatrick has played in six games and on 102 offensive snaps across three seasons, though he last played on an offensive snap in 2022 with the Titans.

The move makes room on the practice squad for Laviska Shenault, who was waived by the Seahawks on Monday. Fitzpatrick spent most of 2023 on the Steelers' practice squad, though he was called up for Week 4 against the Texans, during which he played three snaps on special teams. He had a solid preseason, finishing with five catches for 130 yards, highlighted by a 59-yard reception in the Steelers' preseason finale against the Lions on Saturday. Fitzpatrick has appeared in just six regular-season games since being selected by the Titans in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Assuming he clears waivers, Fitzpatrick should be able to catch on with another team, most likely on a practice squad.
