Texans' Braden Smith: Carted off field
Smith (foot) was carted off the field during Wednesday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Practice had to stop when the offensive tackle was carted off. Smith was set to be the starting right tackle for the Texans, meaning if the foot issue is severe, the offensive line will take a huge blow headed into the opening-day contest with the Bills. If Smith must miss time, Trent Brown or Blake Fisher will likely start the season at tackle or guard.

Smith is set to sign a two-year, $25 million deal, which includes $13.5 million fully guaranteed. In Smith, the Texans are acquiring one of the top tackles on the market to help protect C.J. Stroud, who was sacked 23 times across 14 regular-season games in 2025.

Colts' Braden Smith: Shifts to IR
Smith (concussion/neck) was placed on the injured reserve list Saturday.
The veteran offensive lineman from Auburn has been a mainstay on the Colts' offensive line since entering the league in 2018, starting 105 games. Smith is now set to miss Indianapolis' next four contests, which means he'll be sidelined until at least the end of the regular season. In his absence, 2025 fourth-round pick Jalen Travis is expected to start at right tackle.
