Jordan Wilkins: Let go from team
Wilkins was released by the Browns on Sunday.
Wilkins joined the Browns on Aug. 12 after Jerome Ford suffered a hamstring injury. However, the veteran running back was unable to convince the team to keep him with cut-down day looming. The Ole Miss product will now seek another opportunity elsewhere.

Browns' Jordan Wilkins: Ford injury presents opportunity
Wilkins is getting extra reps as the Browns deal with an injury to projected backup running back Jerome Ford (hamstring), Dan Labbe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Wilkins had three carries for 18 yards and caught his lone target for eight yards in last week's preseason tie against the Eagles. That was his first game since joining the Browns earlier this month. Ford's injury presents an opportunity for Wilkins, who is competing with Demetric Felton, John Kelly and Hassan Hall to become the third back. Ford is not practicing this week and will not play in Saturday's preseason finale against Kansas City. His status for Week 1 of the regular season remains murky, so two of the competitors could be active when the Browns open the season at home against the Bengals.

Browns' Jordan Wilkins: New home in Cleveland
Wilkins has signed a contract with the Browns, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
This news comes one day after he worked out with the team, so he clearly made an impression. Cleveland is in the running back market because its No. 2 option, Jerome Ford (hamstring), is currently week-to-week. The 29-year-old Wilkins spent time on the practice squads of both the Colts and Titans in 2022, and he suited up for four games with the former.

Jordan Wilkins: Getting look from Cleveland
Wilkins will work out with the Browns this week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports.
The Browns are perusing the market for another running back while the current No. 2 option on the depth chart, Jerome Ford, is considered week-to-week with a hamstring injury. Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Gets eight touches in loss
Wilkins had six carries for 23 yards and two receptions for 14 yards in Sunday's loss at the Giants.
Wilkins played on 10 of the offense's 58 snaps and had more carries than Deon Jackson amid a blowout loss. Meanwhile, Zack Moss had 15 carries in a starting role. Wilkins could get a significant share of the playing time in the season finale this week against Houston, but it's hard to predict what the Colts will do on offense in a meaningless game.

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Signed to active roster
The Colts signed Wilkins to the active roster Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Wilkins was elevated for Weeks 9 and 10, totaling six rushing attempts for 31 yards while securing four of five targets for 15 yards across 21 offensive snaps. Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Three carries in backup role
Wilkins had three carries for 18 yards in Sunday's win at Las Vegas.
Wilkins played just three snaps on offense, and Zack Moss played just one snap, as Jonathan Taylor (60 snaps) got almost all the playing time now that he's healthy and Nyhiem Hines has been traded. Wilkins looks like the primary backup as long as Deon Jackson (knee) is out, but that may be a very small role barring another Taylor injury.

Jordan Wilkins: Rejoins practice squad
The Colts sent Wilkins back to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Wilkins played just three offensive snaps in Sunday's Week 10 win over the Raiders, but he was fairly productive in the limited role, turning three carries into 18 yards. He actually tallied the second-most totes among Indianapolis running backs, as Jonathan Taylor (60 snaps) functioned as the workhorse with 22 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown. Wilkins' chance to be elevated again Week 11 may depend on whether Deon Jackson (knee) is able to play.
