Cardinals' Corey Clement: Re-signs with Cardinals
Clement agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic reports.
Now 28 years old, Clement has been bouncing around different rosters and practice squads for the last couple years. He appeared in nine games for the Cardinals last season, making one start, and rushed 15 times for 55 yards and one touchdown. Clement will compete for a depth role this summer.

Cardinals' Corey Clement: Produces in spot start
Clement rushed eight times for 23 yards and a touchdown while adding 25 receiving yards on three receptions in Sunday's 38-13 loss to San Francisco.
Clement led Arizona's backfield with James Conner (shin/knee) sidelined, producing his first touchdown of the season in the process. The veteran backup spent most of his time on special teams this year, logging just nine offensive touches across eight games prior to Sunday. Clement will become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason.

Cardinals' Corey Clement: Should help fill in for Conner
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Clement and Keaontay Ingram will be in store for increased roles in Sunday's game against the 49ers with top back James Conner (shin/knee) ruled out for the contest, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Before exiting in the fourth quarter of last week's loss to the Falcons, Conner had been handling massive snap shares in each of the Cardinals' previous seven games. His early departure in Week 17 paved the way for Clement -- who has mostly contributed on special teams this season -- to play 29 snaps on offense en route to carrying seven times for 32 yards while going without a reception on his lone target. Ingram, meanwhile, didn't play any snaps on offense, so Clement appears to be the better bet to see the larger share of Conner's vacated workload in the season finale. That said, the Cardinals have some recent draft capital invested in Ingram -- a rookie sixth-round pick -- so it wouldn't be entirely surprising if he was prioritized over the journeyman Clement.

Cardinals' Corey Clement: Contributes reception in loss
Clement recorded a 21-yard reception in Monday's 27-13 loss to the Patriots.
Clement has played only three snaps on offense during the Cardinals' past two games, but he's been targeted on two occasions and has two receptions for 29 yards to show for it. The 28-year-old isn't expected to see additional opportunities unless lead back James Conner misses time, or if the Cardinals choose to lighten his workload. Conner handled snap shares north of 95 percent in both Week 13 and Week 14.

Clement was elevated to the active roster prior to Thursday's victory over New Orleans, but he logged only one offensive snap and 16 on special teams while recording no other stats. Cardinals' Corey Clement: Getting Week 6 call-up
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that Clement will be elevated from the practice squad for the Cardinals' Week 6 game in Seattle, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Arizona may wait until Saturday to make Clement's appointment to the roster official, but he'll be on hand Sunday to provide another healthy body out of the backfield with James Conner (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) sitting out Week 6 and with Jonathan Ward (hamstring) having recently been moved to injured reserve. Eno Benjamin is expected to step into Conner's usual role as Arizona's lead back, but Clement could serve as a change-of-pace option behind him in addition to contributing on special teams. Rookie sixth-round pick Keaontay Ingram is also on hand and could also have a role in the game plan behind Benjamin.
