New coach Dennis Allen put the Raiders through their first practice of training camp Monday morning on a sunny, mild day in Napa, Calif. Allen worked his players for two hours and 40 minutes. Per the new CBA, they wore helmets and shells Monday and will again Tuesday as they ease their way into camp. The full pads go on Wednesday.

Who’s here: All 89 players on the roster reported by the Sunday deadline and were in camp in time for the first practice Monday morning. Quarterback Carson Palmer and running back Darren McFadden, among others, looked sharp during a fast-paced, up-tempo practice that featured plenty of 11 on 11 sessions. Palmer and McFadden obviously continued working hard after the OTAs and minicamps ended in late June.

Who’s not: Outside linebacker Aaron Curry, projected to start on the weak side, was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list with a lingering knee injury that forced him to miss time during OTAs and minicamp. Rookie Miles Burris worked in his place. Allen said Curry will be evaluated “day to day.” He spent much of practice walking around the perimeter of the field. Starting left cornerback Ron Bartell missed practice with a hamstring injury, and punter Shane Lechler was sidelined with a knee injury. They’re both day to day, Allen said. DeMarcus Van Dyke filled in for Bartell. Backup defensive tackle Travis Ivey did not participate in practice because of conditioning concerns. While his teammates practiced, Ivey either watched or worked out on exercise equipment in the weight room.
