Rockets' Amen Thompson: Hits for season-high 22
Thompson recorded 22 points (9-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 39 minutes during Sunday's 117-106 victory over the Clippers.
Making his first start since Nov. 11 and just his second of the season, Thompson produced his highest-scoring performance of the campaign. While his offense remains inconsistent, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 Draft has found another level with his overall play since late November, particularly on the glass. Thompson has pulled down at least six boards in eight straight games, averaging 13.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks over that stretch while shooting 53.1 percent from the floor. If Fred VanVleet (knee) remains sidelined, Thompson should continue to have more offensive usage

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Starting sans VanVleet
Thompson will enter the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
With Fred VanVleet (knee) sidelined, Thompson will make his second start of the year Sunday. In his last five outings, the 21-year-old has averaged 12.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks across 30.0 minutes per game off the bench.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Solid from bench in defeat
Thompson accumulated 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds and one block across 22 minutes during Thursday's 99-93 loss to Golden State.
Thompson's solid multi-category contributions come and go like the wind, but the second-year wing is doing a decent job in a supporting role. He's one injury away from finding his way into the starting lineup and has the goods to fill in at several positions.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Posts a dud in loss
Thompson posted three points (1-5 FG, 1-4 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 120-111 loss to Sacramento.
This was a brutal showing for Thompson, although he was likely due for a dud in what has been a breakout campaign for the second-year forward. Through his opening 22 regular-season contests, Thompson has flashed some serious fantasy upside with averages of 11.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.9 blocks in 26.5 minutes per contest.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Fills stat sheet efficiently
Thompson posted 19 points (8-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and three steals in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 122-115 overtime victory over the 76ers.
Thompson is one of the most productive bench players in the league, and he's a must-have player in most fantasy formats, particularly category-based leagues due to his ability to fill the stat sheet. The second-year forward is averaging a robust stat line of 13.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.6 blocks per game across his last 10 appearances while shooting 63.3 percent from the field in that span.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Strong two-way effort
Thompson supplied 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, three blocks and four steals in 38 minutes during Tuesday's 117-111 overtime win over the Timberwolves.
Thompson got it done on both ends of the floor, scoring in double digits for the eighth time in the past nine games and adding seven combined steals and blocks. Despite a somewhat inconsistent role, Thompson has been able to provide excellent value off the bench. Over the past week, he has averaged 12.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks in 28.5 minutes per game. Even if he continues to come off the bench, Thompson should continue to be a key piece for the surging Rockets.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Fills stat sheet Friday
Thompson posted 10 points (3-8 FG, 4-7 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals over 24 minutes during Friday's 116-88 victory over the Trail Blazers.
Thompson continues to see more than 20 minutes off the bench on a regular basis, and it seems he'll continue to find ways to produce as long as he gets enough playing time. This was his fourth double-double of the season, and fantasy managers will be happy with the two-way contributions Thompson often brings to the table, making him valuable despite his bench role. He's averaging 10.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game over his last five outings off the bench.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Battles foul trouble in win
Thompson provided six points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one block over 17 minutes during Wednesday's 130-113 victory over the Pacers.
Thompson picked up three early fouls, limiting him to just 17 minutes. While this was a subpar performance, Thompson had been playing well up to this point. He continues to come off the bench but typically sees at least 25 minutes per night. Look for him to get back on track against the Trail Blazers on Friday.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Getting green light Sunday
Thompson (quadriceps) is available to play in Sunday's game against the Bulls, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports.
Thompson seemingly injured his right quadricep against the Clippers on Friday, though he will play through the soreness and give it a go against Chicago. The 21-year-old has played a significant role for the Rockets this year while coming off the bench in all but one game, averaging 11.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 53.1 percent from the floor across 25.3 minutes per game in 13 regular-season outings.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Iffy against Chicago
Thompson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bulls due to right quadriceps soreness.
Thomson appears to have injured his quadriceps against the Clippers on Friday and could miss Sunday's contest. If Thompson is forced to sit out Sunday, Reed Sheppard, Cam Whitmore and Tari Eason are candidates to receive increased playing time.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Slides back to bench
Thompson won't start Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
Thompson tallied 13 points, eight rebounds and eight combined steals-plus-blocks during a spot start Monday. However, the guard will shift back to the second unit now that Fred VanVleet is healthy. Thompson is averaging 10.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 24.1 minutes over 10 appearances off the bench.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Productive in spot start
Thompson closed Monday's 107-92 victory over the Wizards with 13 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-8 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, four blocks and four steals over 28 minutes.
Thompson started at point guard due to the absence of Fred VanVleet (foot) and was productive across the board. Even though he finished with only one assist, as Alperen Sengun took on a bigger role in the playmaking department, Thompson did enough to deliver a strong fantasy showing, particularly on the defensive end. Expect Thompson to remain in the starting lineup as long as VanVleet remains sidelined.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Will start at PG Monday
Thompson will start at point guard during Monday's game against the Wizards, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
With Fred VanVleet (foot) sidelined, Thompson will make his first start of the season. The second-year wing has averaged 10.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 24.1 minutes per game through 10 appearances this season, but he figures to have increased usage while running Houston's offense against Washington.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Nears double-double in win
Thompson totaled 12 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Monday's 109-97 victory over the Knicks.
Thompson led the bench in scoring Monday after posting a double-double in Saturday's loss to the Warriors. The 21-year-old has received significant minutes off the bench and has scored in double figures in three straight appearances. Thompson is expected to remain the Rockets' top option off the bench, though he could make a case to enter the starting lineup, especially if injury concerns arise for the club.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Posts first double-double
Thompson supplied 18 points (8-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Saturday's 127-121 overtime loss to Golden State.
Thompson took on his largest workload of the season Saturday, as head coach Ime Udoka leaned heavily on the second-year wing and fellow reserve Tari Eason (35 minutes) while the two helped the Rockets overcome a 31-point first half deficit to send the game to overtime. The 21-year-old has now put up 10 or more points in two straight matchups and has recorded a steal in three straight, and he could earn himself more playing time on the heels of his big performance. Thompson's season-best outing came after the Rockets exercised his $9.69 million team option for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday, per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Limited again in victory
Thompson produced seven points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one block and one steal across 19 minutes during Monday's 106-101 win over the Spurs.
Thompson continues to play limited minutes off the bench, a frustrating situation for anyone who invested a draft pick on him. Although he is typically the first player off the bench, he has yet to play a sizeable role. The upside is clear for everyone to see, but at this stage, the Rockets simply have too many cooks in the kitchen. He is worth holding where possible as it feels as though he is only one injury away from stepping into a meaningful role.
