Kennard signed a two-year, $13 million contract with the Suns on Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
After playing for three teams in the past two seasons, Kennard will join the Suns and figures to play a meaningful role off the bench. The veteran sharpshooter appeared in 78 regular-season games (six starts) between the Hawks and Lakers in 2025-26, averaging 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.7 steals in 21.6 minutes per game. He also led the league in three-point percentage, shooting 47.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Kennard notched five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 24 minutes during Monday's 115-110 loss to the Thunder in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Kennard certainly had some positive moments in the playoffs, stepping up for the injured Luka Doncic (hamstring). The veteran sharpshooter is now set to hit the open market as a free agent, where he will likely garner plenty of interest. Across 78 regular-season contests, Kennard averaged 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.3 three-pointers.

Lakers' Luke Kennard: Available for Game 2

Kennard (neck) has been cleared to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Thunder on Thursday, Dan Woike of The Athletic reports.
Kennard evidently picked up the neck injury during Game 1, but the issue won't prevent him from taking the court Thursday evening. He'll presumably provide support off the bench behind Austin Reaves and Marcus Smart in Game 2.
Kennard is questionable for Thursday's Game 2 matchup with the Thunder due to neck soreness.
Kennard must have tweaked his neck during Game 1 on Tuesday, and now he's in danger of sitting out Game 2. If he is forced to the sidelines, that would open up minutes for Jake LaRavia, Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.
Kennard will come off the bench in Friday's Game 6 of the Western Conference first-round series against Houston, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
Kennard has started in every game of the series to date. However, with Austin Reaves moving back into the starting lineup, Kennard will come off the bench for the first time since the 139-96 loss to Oklahoma City on April 2.

Kennard, who has been outstanding in this series, was finally held in check during Sunday's loss. Through four games, Kennard is averaging a whopping 39.5 minutes per contest with 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
