The Celtics traded Vonleh and cash consideration to the Spurs on Thursday in exchange for a future second-round pick, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Vonleh was subsequently waived by San Antonio. The 27-year-old big man is free to hit the open market and attempt to find work elsewhere. He saw limited playing time in Boston this season, averaging 7.4 minutes across 23 appearances. The Celtics will open up a roster spot by trading away Vonleh and save on the luxury tax, as his contract was to become fully guaranteed this weekend.... See More ... See Less

Celtics' Noah Vonleh: DNP in win
Vonley did not see the court during Boston's 116-110 win Wednesday night in Toronto. Wednesday night's DNP-Coach's Decision was Vonleh's seventh over Boston's last 11 games. Vonleh earned meaningful minutes off the bench early in the season when the Celtics were dealing with injuries. But the muscular post player is now squarely behind Luke Kornet and Blake Griffin for big-man reserve minutes. Vonleh's situation will worsen when Robert Williams returns.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Stays on bench during loss
Vonleh received a DNP-Coach's Decision in Wednesday's 114-113 loss at Cleveland. Wednesday marked Vonleh's first DNP of the season after appearing in Boston's first six contests. The veteran reserve has seen his minutes slowly decline since the 20 minutes of run he received on Opening Night. Vonleh appears to have dropped behind Luke Kornet, now healthy after an ankle issue, and Sam Hauser on Celtics' depth chart.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Racks up five fouls
Vonleh chipped in two points (1-4 FG), five rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 12 minutes during Monday's 120-102 loss to the Bulls. Vonleh has displayed a major propensity to pick up fouls -- collecting 17 in 61 total minutes played thus far. While those tendencies reduce his role, Vonleh was destined for a shrinking role with Tuesday's return of Al Horford (back). Nonetheless, Vonleh brings a physical impact defensively, highlighted by six swats in four games.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Back in bench role
Vonleh will come off the bench Monday against the Bulls. Vonleh will make an expected move back to the bench with Al Horford (back) cleared to play Monday evening after missing Saturday's matchup. Vonleh has logged 20 and 14 minutes in two games off the bench this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Starting Saturday
Vonleh will start Saturday's game against the Magic, Jay King of The Athletic reports. With Al Horford (back) sidelined, Vonleh will get the nod at center. In two games off the bench, he's totaled six points, seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 34 minutes. Blake Griffin, Luke Kornet and Grant Williams are also candidates to see more action.... Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Will come off bench Friday
Vonleh will operate off the bench during Friday's preseason finale against the Raptors. With the majority of Boston's regulars sidelined, Vonleh entered the starting lineup during the Celtics' last exhibition, but he'll revert to his usual bench role during the preseason finale. The veteran big man is competing for a depth role during his first season with the Celtics.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Will start Friday
Vonleh will enter the starting five Friday. Vonleh will be joined by Derrick White, Sam Hauser, Jaylen Brown and Grant Williams, as the Celtics continue to test out new lineups. Vonleh has the opportunity to carve out a role early on with Robert Williams (knee) out for the foreseeable future.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Noah Vonleh: Signs with Boston
Vonleh signed a one-year contract with Boston on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The 2014 first-round pick last played in the NBA with the Nets briefly during the 2020-21 season, appearing in just four games. Vonleh will try to make the final roster with a strong performance during training camp and the preseason.... See More ... See Less -
Noah Vonleh: Waived by Brooklyn
Vonleh was waived by the Nets after Tuesday's win over the Kings, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The 25-year-old joined Brooklyn in early February, but the team opted to waive him rather than guarantee his contract for the rest of the season. Vonleh played 11 total minutes across four appearances during his time with the team.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Noah Vonleh: Cleared to play for new team
The Nets said that Vonleh will be available for Tuesday's game at Detroit, Malika Andrews of ESPN.com reports. Brooklyn didn't sign Vonleh until earlier Monday, but the big man apparently won't require any additional time to clear COVID-19 intake testing before joining the team. Vonleh could quickly supplant Norvel Pelle as the Nets' backup center behind DeAndre Jordan.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Noah Vonleh: Lands in Brooklyn
Vonleh agreed Monday with the Nets on a contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. After being cut by the Bulls during training camp, Vonleh received several G League offers, but he opted to hold off on signing with the hope that another NBA opportunity would arrive. His patience paid off, as Vonleh will now join a playoff-contending Brooklyn squad that's sorely lacking in frontcourt depth. Once he has time to get acclimated in Brooklyn, Vonleh could quickly settle into head coach Steve Nash's rotation as floor-stretching alternative at center to DeAndre Jordan.... See More ... Noah Vonleh: Tests positive, waived by Bulls
Vonleh tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday and will be waived by the Bulls, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports. Vonleh was not with the team for Sunday's preseason game in Houston, and even as a free agent he'll begin a mandatory 10-day quarantine. The 2014 lottery pick is yet to find a permanent home in the NBA, having spent time with the Bulls, Blazers, Knicks, Nuggets, Timberwolves and Bulls again within the last three years alone. Once he's cleared to return, he'll look to sign on with another team or potentially survey his options overseas.... See More ... See Less -
Bulls' Noah Vonleh: Out vs. Rockets
Vonleh (undisclosed) will not play Sunday against the Rockets, Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago reports. The Bulls' official injury report simply states that Vonleh is "not with the team," so it's unclear if the reserve big man will miss any additional time. In Friday's preseason opener, Vonleh was one of the bright spots for Chicago, finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds and a block in 12 minutes off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Bulls' Noah Vonleh: Joining Bulls
Vonleh agreed to a one-year contract with the Bulls on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Vonleh continues to bounce around the league. He's actually played for Chicago before, seeing 19.0 minutes per game with the Bulls in the second half of 2017-18. This time around, it's unlikely the 25-year-old will see that type of workload.... Nuggets' Noah Vonleh: Logs three minutes in lopsided loss
Vonleh finished with zero points (0-1 FG) in three minutes during Friday's 124-87 Game 3 loss to the Jazz. Vonleh saw the lowest allotment of minutes among the 13 Nuggets who saw the floor in this one. He hasn't been a consistent part of the rotation since January and appeared in only three regular-season games following the restart, with this game representing his first playoff action.... Nuggets' Noah Vonleh: Absent from injury report
Vonleh (ankle) is not listed on the Nuggets' injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Cavaliers. Vonleh has missed four consecutive games due to an ankle injury. While it appears he will be available for Saturday's contest, it remains to be seen if he will get any time in the rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Noah Vonleh: Questionable Thursday
Vonleh (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Hornets. Vonleh has missed the past three games while recovering from a sprained right ankle. More information on his condition may arrive following the Nuggets' morning shootaround.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Noah Vonleh: Could return Tuesday
Vonleh (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Warriors. Vonleh has missed the last two matchups due to a right ankle sprain. Even if he does receive clearance for Tuesday's clash, don't expect the forward to see more than a few minutes of playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Noah Vonleh: Out vs. Raps
Vonleh (ankle) will not play Sunday against Toronto, Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports reports. Vonleh was questionable coming in, but a sprained right ankle will keep him sidelined. Vohleh has appeared in just three games since Jan. 15 -- spending time with both Minnesota an Denver in that span.... See More ... See Less
