Phillies' Jeremy Walker: Cut from camp
The Phillies reassigned Walker to minor-league camp Tuesday.
Walker had been attending big-league spring training as a non-roster invitee after landing a minor-league deal with Philadelphia in December. The lack of a 40-man roster spot may have worked against Walker in his bid for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen, as he otherwise made a strong case for breaking camp with the Phillies by striking out six and allowing just seven baserunners over 7.1 scoreless frames in Grapefruit League play. Walker will likely report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.... See More ... See Less

Walker will turn 28 years old this coming summer and has logged only six career appearances at the MLB level -- all in 2019 with Atlanta. The 27-year-old right-hander can be considered organizational depth for Philadelphia heading into the 2023 campaign.... See More ... See Less

Walker (shoulder) made his second appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings while allowing two baserunners.
While he recovered from a shoulder injury, Walker hadn't pitched in affiliated ball since 2019 before he made a two-inning rehab appearance at Single-A on April 15. After checking out fine following that outing, Walker was activated from Sacramento's 7-day injured list last Tuesday. The right-hander -- who previously made six big-league appearances with Atlanta in 2019 -- is expected to spend the majority of the 2022 campaign with the Giants' Triple-A affiliate.... See More ... Giants' Jeremy Walker: Joins San Francisco
Walker (shoulder) signed a contract with the Giants on Wednesday, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR News reports.

Jeremy Walker: Released by Atlanta
Walker (shoulder) was released by Atlanta on Friday.
The move clears space on the 40-man roster for Travis Demeritte, who was claimed off waivers from the Tigers in a corresponding move. Walker threw 9.1 innings in his 2019 big-league debut, allowing just two runs but posting an unimpressive 6:4 K:BB. He missed all of last season due to shoulder issues, though it's unclear whether or not those are still present or whether they factored into Atlanta's decision to let him go.... See More ... Braves' Jeremy Walker: Moves to 45-day IL
Walker was placed on the 45-day injured list Friday with a right shoulder impingement.
The 25-year-old suffered the injury early in spring camp and was never provided an official timetable for his return, but he clearly needs more time to recover. Walker made his big-league debut in 2019 and allowed two runs over 9.1 innings, but it's unclear if he'll be able to play during the shortened 2020 season.... See More ... See Less
Braves' Jeremy Walker: Out with shoulder injury
Walker tweaked his shoulder earlier in camp and does not have a timetable to return to games, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
He will need to rebuild his arm strength once he is cleared to resume throwing, so it sounds like he will open the year on the injured list. Walker logged 9.1 innings in the majors last season and would have had a chance to make the 26-man roster as a low-leverage reliever if he were healthy.... See More ... See Less
