Player Outlook
Jacob Misiorowski has frontline starter upside and all the stereotypical risk factors that get associated with young, lanky flame throwers. The 6-foot-7 righty missed the final month of the season with arm fatigue, can touch triple digits with his fastball and had walk rates over 13 percent at High-A (13.2 BB%) and Double-A (15.0 BB%). He also has one of the best sliders in pro ball and the type of strikeout upside that's hard to come by. It would require rapid development for him to get his command and pitchability to a point where he is ready to have success as a big-league starter in 2024. He built up to 71.1 innings but only threw five-plus innings four times in 20 starts. Misiorowski is the exact type of pitching prospect the Brewers may opt to break in as a high-leverage reliever before stretching him out the following season, as they did with Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Resumes throwing

Misiorowski (arm) has resumed a throwing program, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Misiorowski didn't make an appearance after Aug. 15 due to right arm fatigue, but it would appear he's moved past that. The 21-year-old was one of the biggest pitching prospect breakouts in all of the minors in 2023, collecting a 3.41 ERA and 110:42 K:BB over 71.1 innings between Low-A Carolina, High-A Wisconsin and Double-A Biloxi. It's possible he could push to debut at some point in 2024 if he stays healthy and continues to progress.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Lands on injured list

Double-A Biloxi placed Misiorowski on its 7-day injured list Saturday due to arm fatigue, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Per the report, "Initial tests did not prompt significant concern about structural damage, but out of caution, the Brewers have shut Misiorowski down for the time being." With that in mind, Misiorowski is facing an extended absence, but according to Brewers general manager Matt Arnold, there's still a chance the hard-throwing 21-year-old could find himself in the big-league bullpen before the campaign comes to a close.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Promoted to High-A

Misiorowski was promoted Tuesday from Low-A Carolina to High-A Wisconsin, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Misiorowski earned the promotion after delivering a 3.04 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 46 strikeouts through 26.2 innings (nine starts) this season in the Carolina League. Selected in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft, the fast-rising 21-year-old is the highest-rated pitching prospect in the Brewers' system.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Making mark at Single-A

Misiorowski posted a 1.00 ERA, 0.44 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB in nine innings over his last two starts with Single-A Carolina. Misiorowski has been brought along slowly in his first full professional season, but he has steadily built up his innings, and his last two outings showed why he is thought of highly by prospect evaluators. Misiorowski turned 21 years old in April, so he will have a chance to move up the ranks at some point this summer.
