Strzelecki, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, secured a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster. Strzelecki was not particularly sharp during spring training, but the 2.83 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB he posted over 35.0 innings out of Milwaukee's bullpen in 2022 helped him break camp with the big club for the first time in his career. Brewers' Peter Strzelecki: Earns first career save
Strzelecki picked up the save with a clean inning in Tuesday's 3-0 victory over the Diamondbacks. He did not record a strikeout. Strzelecki entered the game in the ninth inning with a 3-0 lead and set Arizona down in order to earn the first save of his career. The save opportunity was likely a product of the Brewers being out of playoff contention and manager Craig Counsell opting to give some of the younger players a look. Strzelecki was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. Strzelecki was sent to the minors in early August but will rejoin the Brewers' bullpen after Trevor Gott (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday.
