Rockies manager Bud Black announced Tuesday that Trejo made the Opening Day roster, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. The 27-year-old was in camp as a non-roster invitee after being outrighted off the 40-man roster in January, but he'll be added back to the major-league roster ahead of Thursday's season opener in Arizona. Trejo appeared in 83 games for Colorado last season and had a .232/.288/.343 slash line.... See More ... See Less

Rockies' Alan Trejo: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Rockies sent Trejo outright to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. Trejo's move to Triple-A and off the 40-man roster comes as a result of Dakota Hudson signing with the Rockies on Friday. Trejo slashed .232/.288/.343 with 26 RBI across 227 plate appearances last season. However, he has historically performed significantly better in Triple-A, and he could still return to Colorado if he gets off to another hot start in the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Homers in loss
Trejo went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Twins. Trejo has been mired in a 1-for-25 stretch but has now recorded four hits over his past two games, including Friday's blast. The utility player is hitting .226 with four homers, 26 RBI, 23 runs and five steals over 205 at-bats.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Goes deep in loss
Trejo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Dodgers. Trejo's fourth-inning blast tied the game at 3-3, but the Rockies' offense stalled out from there. The infielder has gone 4-for-15 over his last seven games while playing in a limited role. He snapped a homer drought of 15 contests dating back to July 16. Trejo hasn't exactly impressed with a .248/.287/.357 slash line, two homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored and four stolen bases over 168 plate appearances, but he could push for some playing time at second base with Brendan Rodgers struggling.... Rockies' Alan Trejo: Knocks four hits
Trejo went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's win over Washington. Trejo had a near-perfect day at the plate, highlighted by the seventh inning where he doubled and scored a run. It was his first multi-hit game since May 26 -- in 14 games between then and Monday, he posted a .583 OPS with 12 strikeouts in 33 at-bats. Trejo improved his season slash line to .256/.291/.353 with 11 extra-base hits and 15 runs scored through 142 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Walks it off in extras
Trejo went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-7 extra-innings win over the Yankees. Trejo entered as a pinch runner and scored in the eighth inning before walking it off with his solo shot in the 11th. The homer was his first of the season in 46 contests. The infielder has added 14 RBI, 12 runs scored, eight doubles and four stolen bases over 128 plate appearances. Trejo doesn't have an immediate path to significant playing time -- his best bet would be to compete with Harold Castro at second base, which could earn Trejo a short-side platoon role.... Rockies' Alan Trejo: Recalled from Triple-A
Colorado recalled Trejo from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Trejo returns to the Rockies in a utility infield role following a three-week stay in the minors. He hit the ball well on the farm but holds a weak .241/.271/.313 batting line with zero home runs across 41 games (119 plate appearances) this year in the bigs.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Retreats to minors
The Rockies optioned Trejo to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. Trejo had been serving as a short-side platoon option in the infield for the Rockies, but he hadn't been especially effective in that role. Colorado called up infielder Coco Montes from Triple-A to serve as a replacement for Trejo, who has slashed .241/.271/.313 with zero home runs and four stolen bases across 119 plate appearances for Colorado on the season.... Rockies' Alan Trejo: Swipes third bag
Trejo went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a steal in Thursday's victory over Miami. He got the Rockies on the board in the fourth inning, driving in Randal Grichuk with two outs. Trejo would later walk to lead off the seventh inning before swiping his third stolen base of the year. The 26-year-old infielder's gone just 2-for-19 over his last seven games while playing sparingly. He's now slashing .231/.260/.286 with 11 RBI and eight runs scored through 97 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Steal, RBI in win
Trejo went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a steal in Wednesday's win over Pittsburgh. Trejo tied the game 3-3 in the fourth inning with an RBI single before notching his second stolen base, setting a career high. The 27-year-old has been swinging the bat well, going 8-for-19 with five RBI in his last six games. He's now slashing .264/.284/.333 with five doubles, six runs scored and nine RBI while primarily coming off the bench for Colorado.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Sits again Saturday
Trejo remains on the bench for Saturday's game against the Mets, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Trejo started 10 out of 11 games from April 18 to 29, but since then, he's started just two of six contests. Both of his starts in this recent stretch have come against southpaws, with Harold Castro handling second base against righties like Saturday's starter Tylor Megill.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Not in lineup Friday
Trejo is out of the lineup Friday against the Mets. Harold Castro will start at second base and bat eighth with right-hander Kodai Senga on the mound for New York. This has formed into a bit of a platoon in recent weeks, though Trejo should still get starts against some righties. Trejo and Castro are both currently under .600 in the OPS department.... Rockies' Alan Trejo: Drives in three
Trejo went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Wednesday against the Brewers. Trejo came to bat with the bases loaded and two outs in the fourth inning and delivered a bases-clearing double. He added a single later in the game to record his first multi-hit effort since April 10. Trejo has been operating as Colorado's everyday second baseman since April 18, though he's hit just .195 with six RBI and two runs scored across 41 at-bats in that span.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Heads to bench Sunday
Trejo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Trejo started the past four games at second base and will take a seat after he went 3-for-18 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base. Harold Castro will man the keystone in Sunday's series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Tallies first stolen base
Trejo went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and a stolen base Tuesday against the Guardians. Trejo was in the lineup for the seventh time in the last eight games, as he's taken over as Colorado's primary second baseman. He hasn't taken advantage of that extra run by collecting only four hits across 26 at-bats. Trejo's performance could improve when the Rockies return home, but his primary value to the team will remain his work with the glove.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Becoming regular in infield
Trejo will start at second base and bat seventh in Monday's game in Cleveland, Suzie Hunter of TheDNVR.com reports. With the Rockies phasing the slumping Elehuris Montero out of a regular role of late before optioning him to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Trejo looks to be the main beneficiary from a playing-time perspective. Ryan McMahon has shifted over from second base to serve as the replacement for Montero at third base, leaving the keystone open for Trejo. The 26-year-old will collect his sixth start in seven games Monday, but with a .237 average to go with no home runs or steals in 40 plate appearances on the season, Trejo has offered little to get excited about for fantasy purposes.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Could see increased playing time
Trejo went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Tuesday's game against the Pirates. Trejo was in the lineup for only the seventh time this season and at second base for only the second time. However, he could be in line for more consistent playing time moving forward, as Ryan McMahon shifted to third base Tuesday, in turn pushing Elehuris Montero to the bench. Montero has struggled defensively early this season -- he made two costly errors Monday -- and is a candidate to lose more playing time or even be sent down to the minors, per Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. While Trejo has the potential to be steadier than Montero, he has maintained just a 73 wRC+ and .296 wOBA across 198 career plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Swats homer in loss
Trejo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Giants. Trejo popped the ball off and over the right-field wall in the fifth inning for a 332-foot solo shot. It was his first homer since Sept. 13 and his fourth of the season. Trejo has been hitting well of late, going 11-for-33 (.333 average) with two doubles, a homer and four RBI over his past nine contests.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Steps out of lineup
Trejo is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants. Trejo started seven straight games but will take a seat Tuesday after he posted a .655 OPS during that span. Garrett Hampson will start at the keystone and bat ninth in the series opener.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Alan Trejo: Sticks as regular in middle infield
Trejo will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Padres. The arrival of top prospect Ezequiel Tovar in the big leagues has ended Trejo's run as Colorado's primary shortstop, but Brendan Rodgers' (hamstring) recent move to the injured list has opened up an everyday role for Trejo at the keystone. He'll be making his third straight start at the position after he had manned shortstop each of the prior four contests.... See More ... See Less
