The Reds promoted Jorge from Single-A Daytona to High-A Dayton on Aug. 11. The 19-year-old second baseman slashed .295/.400/.483 with nine home runs, 31 steals and a 19.7 percent strikeout rate in 86 games for Daytona prior to the promotion. Jorge is hitting .231 with a 40.7 percent strikeout rate in his first 27 plate appearances for Dayton, but regardless of how he fares at High-A over the rest of the season, his production at Single-A confirmed that he has an exciting long-term toolset for fantasy.... Reds' Carlos Jorge: Showing all tools at Single-A
Jorge is slashing .304/.431/.522 with three home runs, five steals and an 11:10 K:BB in his last 12 games for Single-A Daytona. On the season, the 19-year-old second baseman is hitting .285/.389/.458 with seven home runs and 28 steals in 70 games. Jorge combines excellent speed with a good command of the strike zone and enough power to keep pitchers honest.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Carlos Jorge: Excellent full-season debut
Jorge is slashing .310/.388/.506 with three home runs, five steals and a 23.5 percent strikeout rate in 24 games with Single-A Daytona. Jorge put up excellent statistical campaigns in the Dominican Summer League in 2021 and the Arizona Complex League in 2022, but those are very hitter-friendly leagues, so it's encouraging that he has kept producing after this notable jump in competition. He has even cut his strikeout rate from 26.6 percent in the ACL, so things couldn't be going much better for the 19-year-old second baseman.... See More ... See Less
